ZBrush 4.0 Activation and Registration Troubleshooting

A particularly annoying part is that the endlessly repeated error message has nothing whatsoever to do with what the problem is, or so they tell me. :frowning:

Nuts. After an hour of repeated failures, submitting activation requests definitely has lost its thrill.

For those repeat clickers who have succeeded in aquiring your activation code (if there are any of you still even reading this thread :smiley: ), did you simply
A.

  1. Click the Back button,
  2. wait 5 or more minutes
  3. and retry each time the “wrong email address” error came up?

Or did you actually

B.

  1. Close the web browser activation window.
  2. Cancel the activation process in ZB4
  3. Quit ZB4
  4. Restart ZB4 and begin the activation process fresh each time the “wrong email address” error came up?

Looks like the activation server crashed.
I think I final got a confirmation but the page won’t load. support.pixology.com won’t load either.

Is the the biggest upgrade in history? I’m thinking yes

Despite the frustration of the process, my hat’s off to Pixologic and Cleverbridge. I’m sure this isn’t easy for them.

Day 3 Today I made huge progress in the Quest to activate Zbrush. The journey second only too kissing the hand of the Pope on the day of judgement to make sure everything is ok.
Received the EMAIL that gave me the magical “serial Number”
 Of course this serial number changes anytime a new version of Zbrush comes out making it super convenient to upgrade. And sometimes its called a Serial / activation code / coupon code / clever something id and willy wonka’s golden ticket id. Making it easy to archive the 12 “codes” under an email address with an older serial number that does not work anymore. hmmm


Then I got to see some super sweet artwork with text. End Day 3.

Indeed. But if there really are this many problems with congestion and server crashes and activation issues and support tickets
do you really think they are going to compound the problem by releasing more upgrade emails?

I would think not. At this point i’m just going to wait. A week if need be (after the 16th that is. The date Pixologic said all emails should have gone out), before I go barking up the support tree. I have not had to pay a nickel for upgrades since V2 for crying out loud, lol. It’s all good. :cool:

No that is the good side of Zbrush for sure. This is like my 4th upgrade. I just think compounding “IDs” is their biggest flaw. If they would use a common serial that survives an upgrade their lives and our lives would be remarkably better.

Will anyone address the auto retopolgy feature?

I thought that was a 3DCoat thing.

Wouldn’t it have been fairer if the upgrade e-mails had been sent in order of first registration (oldest to newest)?

I say that as someone who only bought ZBrush two weeks ago (and therefore would be one of the last under that scheme).

The advantage is that we’d all kinda know roughly when we were going to get our e-mail. I’d know I was going to be at the back of the queue, people who bought ZBrush 1 would know they were at the front.

The not knowing is actually the worst part, and each time I check my mail box to find nothing in there, a little bit of me dies. :smiley:

3D Coat has the (mostly) auto retopology.

I really don’t understand why this waiting list for activation is going this way. I mean an upgrade is an upgrade and should be available to all customers at the same time

However - all we have to do is beeing patient and wait

still getting the “mismatch”-error.
i submitted a ticket 12 hours ago and have still no answer.
i already deactivated my 3.5 license, so i have NO zbrush right now.

and all people are happy it works???

DAMN, do i something wrong?=!?!?!?!??!?!?! ****°!

I get some damn error when I try to activate. Do I have to deactivate 3.5?
