Where did you finally make 1 object out of your meshes in Zbrush or maya?
Great stuff! Interesting concept with a great delivery! Impressive
Wow! This is simply amazing work Zack (as always!) - modelling, anatomy, posing and gesture… it’s all there in spades - magnificent stuff
What species/creature did you base the fish/eel head on by the way? can’t quite work out what’s going on with it’s upper jaw…
Great!
Chris
Thanks. I appreciate the comments.
To answer a few questions about the design, it was a planned concept. I typically start from a narrative and this piece was no different. I wanted the form development of the creature (the thing strapped to the Froad’s head) to offset the design of the Froad. So, essentially, the Froad is amphibious and the creature is more bird like.
Not that there is anything wrong with creating characters that are meant to appear obviously evil or foreboding, but I wanted to try to present something that called for a different set of solutions. In this case an almost cumbersome, bizarre creation made more sense for this story. I also just like taking disconnected forms and finding a rational to smash them together.
The pieces were all combined in ZB and if I have time I’d like to texture it, or just paint the 3D Print.
later,
dear zack… you truly master of your domain. i have question. i notice a bit of something. I notice that the dude’s face looks like he either has to poop or is in the midst of AND the chicken creature is kinda shape like a poop, was this done on purpose? is this what’s called story within a story?
cool model dude… where the hell do you come up with this crap?? must be dem crazy nightmares.
I would like to paint a 3d print of that too. I would be surprised though if you could make that piece as is. Would the long thin pieces be to fragile?
Regardless, I really like the form. It takes you in and makes you really want to absorb all of the wonderful detail.
Wow Zack!!!
You are another Master of Zbrush (also… M… too )!!!
Very good sample of your Art…
i love the froad, its wonderful. as soon as i saw it, it put me in mind of an almost parasitic creature that uses the toad to get around, just imagine all the crazy biological gubbins that goes into that bad boy! will definately be keeping a keen eye on him. i know you dont need it but maybe you could do one with the froad lurching and its rider bouncing up on his supports. give a bit of dynamic to it and weight to the froad.
Gnomon is quoting me $92 to ship it . For a similar dvd I get a shipping price of $ 25 from every other vendor out there.I wonder what they are up to.
I really wanted to order this .
IMPRESSIVE work petroc…very interesting concept.
