**** ZBrush 3.5 R3 for Windows Released

ZBrush 4…ever

Hopefully it doesnt turn into 4 never…just like a certain PC game that was never completed…:o

Like duke nukem forever… NO!, i think right now all in Pixologic are working so hard making the update for the mac users and the develop of ZBrush 4, just we need a little patience. all the best things in life takes his time.

Aberrant,

I’m disappointed to see you accept all this as a natural thing.

It is not natural, not in the real world.

Showing this kind of humble submission, to a Landlord like Pixologic, can be anything from a nearly religious worshiping to Stockholm syndrome, but it is not acceptable in the corporate and business environment.

Pixologic treats their customers like blindfolded children beating up a digital Z-Piñata in a pathetic merrydance, waiting for their Z-toys to fall from up above.

But when we are in the business, paying money for a product, service or both, there must be a certain level of commitment to customers, based on mutual respect, collaboration and communication.

Pixologic couldn’t care less about the ones that spend their money on a product that is still on development for 10 years.

ZBrush is not ready yet. It is still a beta version.

They still rely on usermade plugins to make it work, and these features are all scattered, part on 3.5 for PC only, part on 3.2 for Mac only.

I have seen some digital artists move to MudBox and they are more than satisfied with it.

I’m talking about a professional pipeline, in TV producers, animation studios, illustration and design agencies. These guys are committed to their customers, and cannot fail on their promises like Pixologic does to us.

In this aspect, Pixologic is not standing up to their own words, when they pronounce one.

There is a thing call reputation, that costs millions of dollars and long years to a corporation to gain, that can go down the drain in a blink, if not taken proper care of.

Look at Modo, another rock solid piece of 3D software, coming at lightspeed to compete with the traditional leaders on this business, with the best and more reliable proprietary technology you can find. And treating their customers like adults, partners, friends.

Pixologic would better take a good look at their side mirror, because Autodesk and Luxology are getting closer and closer everyday.

I’m looking forward to the next Siggraph.

While some folks compare ZBrush to Duke Nukem, thinking of the software as a toy, some others think of it as a survival tool.

I am a ZBrush instructor in a design school, and am also an illustrator/concept designer, so my way of looking at ZBrush is totally business wise.

Considering the obvious proportions and profit differences, ZBrush is a market leader on their own merit, just as Sony, Ford and CNN are on theirs.

As leaders, they should try to keep the respect they built along a decade of hard work and software pioneer development.

But they seem to be resting on their laurels, delaying far more than acceptable on releasing ZBrush upgrades, version after version, since long awaited 2.5, that never was.

Remember what happened to Chrysler, PanAm and Lehman Brothers?

Well, I wish better luck than that to Pixologic.

As I said, human diversity fascinates me.

Where some see a lot of fun or the lack of it, I see a way for paying my bills and supporting my family.

Or the lack of it.

No don’t get me wrong. Im chilled out until it is released but it just makes it harder when I could be using those awesome ZSpheres II on a project I’m working on right now. But like I don’t have enough to do already. lol. and I am learning a new 3D app so all is good.

This is very sad… no info at all… cause they know they can’t handle it

Funny thing.

If I check this page without logging in, I can se most of your posts, except mine.

I browsed this conversation from another computer, and all my messages were gone.

Only when I logged in I could see them all.

I even thought they have just deleted my posts, but they just labeled them so less people can read it.

Pixologic’s truth is only half of it.

Pixologic, you can’t handle the truth, so you keep playing games with us.

Can I ask you guys, especially those who are not in Pixologic’s black list, to post some words about what is happening here, I mean, this “special treatment” for those who don’t comply to Pixologic’s iron fist rules?

My posts are visible only to those who are logged in.

Try it for yourself, log out and get back to this page, and you won’t see my recent posts.

If you do, it’s probably because Pixologic finally took the duct tape off of my mouth.

They know they can’t handle it?
Dude what are you talking about…
They should ban you and not give the free update to you!

You said it I totally agree with you.

Zbrush has no competition. Transpose, polygroups, creasing, subtools, on and on and on, and it’s never enough. You know what it’s like? It’s like a Edison inventing the lightbulb, but his hair is messy, and a very few vocal people just can’t get over his hair. Hey - he invented light. Who cares how long Pixologic takes for the update, who cares what date they gave, or if they are ambiguous, or if they babble like lunatics over in the Pixologic labs. If you don’t like the software - just don’t use it. I have a lot of software I end up not using, I don’t hang out on their forums taking jabs at them.

The reality is the few-loud-complaining people love the software and are simply habitual complainers.

Pixologic lies compulsively, that’s a fact.

People pay money for final products delivered on time, not for lies and endless promises.

But I know this makes no sense at all to ZBrush fanatic fundamentalists.

Go ahead, stay on you knees, bend over and keep praying for an update.

Be a good boy and someday Pixol God, the Almighty, will bless you with ZBrush 4 and the promised land.

For those who payed U$ 595,00 of course.

Pixologic don’t give us release date, cause they know they can’t be in time…
Yes, ban me…

Good Soft and Good Management is different things

yep, just saint

“They should ban you and not give the free update to you!”
That’s a bad joke, isn’t it?
I gave my 500 euros alright, as a mac user I even hadn’t the opportunity to test this app. I feel like banned already.
BTW what I expect is Pixologic to have a look at all these issues about memory (can’t render in a more than 1200x1000 res on a new mac pro- 16 threads machine, the lazy mouse issue, etc ).
Please don’t misunderstand me, I like this app, I’m using it, just had to write these thoughts.

Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics,
Even if you win, your still a retard.

MrZmey you win this award!

Wow, xsmoke!

You are so smart.

bLawless, I agree with most of what you’re saying dude, but saying ZBrush has no competition is just false information. Have you forgot about 3DCoat. 3DCoat is a VERY good package and if you haven’t tried it I would. I have both and nothing I’ve seen compares to 3DCoat’s retopology and unwrapping features.

Sure, ZBrush is ahead in the sculpting department, but 3DCoat was only started less than 2 years ago. I love ZBrush but I also use 3DCoat and I think competition is good for all of us because we’ll see 3DCoat and ZBrush adding innovative new features!

3DCoat - I have it, I use it. Yes it the best retopology tools.
Thanks.

The topology tools in 3D Coat keep tempting me to run out and buy a copy.
3D Coat has made speedy progress in those short 2 years since it began.
The other thing that impresses me, if I’m not mistaken, is that it’s all developed by just one guy, and he has regular updates for both mac and pc.
I also understand he is good at communication with his customers. I just can’t understand why Pixologic can’t even come close this guy when it comes to mac support. If 3D Coat ever catches up to ZBrush in the sculpting department, then I will just have to make the plunge.
I hesitate to get 3D Coat because maybe ZBrush 4 will have improved the retopology tools, but, at this rate, that could be 4th quarter of this year just for the pc guys, never mind the mac guys.
Don’t get me wrong, ZBrush is a great tool, and I love using it. I just wish the mac updates weren’t so long in coming. It’s frustrating.
