**** ZBrush 3.12 - for Mac OS X - to be released on September 29, 2008 ****

haha

good to know, thanks james.
so hopefully, tomorrow I will wake up to others getting z3, knowing it wont be long until I get mine.

I’ve been pissed for months, James. You don’t know the half of it. I wish I could tell you the rest, but I can’t.

I’ve even got the ‘Introducing ZBrush’ book. Kind of hard to learn when you ain’t got the software.

Valuable lessons have been learned here. That much is certain.

morbius, i know its not optimal, but why can you not use z3 in a virtualization setup?

using vmware or real time via bootcamp?
you do get the lic to use it that way, no sense in depriving yourself.

A " not today " would be awesome. I’m getting very tired

OMG! Still not out!?!
I haven’t seen this much goodwill thrown away since Sept 12 2001! Pixo must have sacked the PR firm they were using a year ago. When I started using Z I was amazed at how well the company looked after its customers. I wonder what’s changed? I hope they haven’t been bought out by Autodesk too!
My hat goes off to those without any way to run 3.1 at all, you deserve a medal. Lets hope you get one soon.

I wonder how much difference a Mac version of Mudbox would’ve made?

Deep breath.

Thanks, you’re amazing. You get to keep my trust and goodwill, cast here amidst the crazies… just for the pointed thrill of it

Release.

Well, Pixo really knows how to piss on its own parade. It’s now 8:30 UK time on the 1st October. And, worryingly, the only email I’ve had is the one saying “We have received your upgrade request”; so I don’t even know if I’m in the queue properly!

Ho hum.

yup another day :frowning: I even went and got my mitts on Meats Mayers intro to Z3 last night, its very interesting looking at the pictures but god! I dont think I’ll have a creative bone in my body when this finally comes out!

Yes I have been sitting here singing, “Midnight, not a sound from Aurick, has Pixo lost it’s memory…”

j

pixo site says it’s available “today!” not sure what that means.

man… this is how I act towards others… tell them I’m gonna do something, then right before the deadine I see something else that can be improved, and work on it pass the deadline, get everyone pissed at me, and finally come through…

now i REALLY know how it feels.

But my work is worth it! I think Zbrush is worth it too. :+1: :+1:

Funny thing is… our new (returning) pastor at our church talked to me about doing a new cover to our weekly bulletin concerning St. Paul. I guess NewPope is calling this the year of St. Paul… anyway he sent me some classic images and I thought “wow, too bad I can’t do zbrush on my mac or I might try a sculpt of St. Paul” then i looked at the website… 3.1 for Mac announced!

a… sign… ? … … … :grimacing: hahahahah

The link takes you to the store and states instant download…

I take it then that the upgrade links are going out as it is now available online.

j

Just checked my email and…

Nothing. Just a happy birthday from ZBrushCentral. Aww thanks, but where’s me download link?

if it’s an instant download for the new customers it will be a downer for all of us old customers.
But if you think about it just because you can download it doesn’t mean that it’ll be instantly activated by pixologic. I guess…

So who will be the first I wonder…

EDIT: I hope not me 'cos I’m at work now. I’d have to sneak off home!

I’m at work as well. But I’m not getting my hopes up since I was one the few people who filled out the form quite late.

From the Mac ZBrush release thread… 3.12’s new features:

Increase Polygon count - Multiple textures per tool - Multiple Displacement Maps per tool - PUVTiles, an enhanced version of GUVTiles/AUVTiles UV mapping - Masking by Ambient Occlusion (which can be saved as an Ambient Occlusion Map) - Streamlined navigation (right mouse navigation, subtool framing, one click subtool selection process) - Improved perspective with added visual grid - ZSpheres editing in perspective mode - Much Improved zoom (get to -really know- your polygons one by one) - 2 new smoothing brushes (SmoothPeaks and SmoothValleys) - One click merging of subtools - Faster and more intelligent algorithms, resulting in a smoother sculpting feel - Enhanced Polypainting accuracy -Improved Project All functionality with Scan-Distance Control - More Vibrant “Deep Shadow” for real-time Preview - And additional improvements throughout many of ZBrush functions in order to accommodate the upcoming features of V3.5.
