Yeah, the funny thing is that there IS competition growing, and if Pixologic had any sense, they’d be building customer goodwill and loyalty for when they need it, not destroying it.

for those of you waiting who haven’t used ZB3 yet, do yourself a favor and grab a bunch of the matcaps that are here for download for free. the red wax just doesn’t do the app justice. ALSO, be sure to check out Rafl Stumpf’s matcaps on Gnomonology.

this isn’t a major release, its not tons of new features.
the coding and stuff is already done, no big new things are added (well not likely), just a full port to use on OSX
I dont understand why such a long wait, if the port is done, and the program works.
Obviously we do not want a flawed app, but I would not be opposed to downloading a beta and using it for a few weeks while the kinks get kicked out. That beats the heck out of waiting another couple of months.
And yes, the idea of using a stable operating system, no vm, and full access to my itunes library (opposed to a brief selection copied over to my fat partition) will be amazing!
If the program ever comes out, you could just scuplt all day and all night long!

This is from Pixologic less than 36 hours ago. So really, this is the time frame reality given by “support”, regardless of what we all hoped for, I’m sure it’ll be sent out soon. Just don’t think that they didn’t give some heads up of how late tonight it will be, they’re probably on schedule as far as that particular post’s time frame…
I guess ‘aurick’ shouldn’t have said:
“I’ll let you know tomorrow (that would be today) as soon as the first upgrades go out. It’s almost here!”

Pixo needs to have a long chat with their marketing dept. (if there is one). Seems like the developers and pixo’s marketing are on different planets. This is f****** ridiculous.

In fact, they said at least 36 to 72 hours, although I would assume that estimate includes all batches within a 36 hour spread, so it should be within a few hours. This is what happened with the Z3 PC release, everyone was disappointed even though they gave accurate time frames. “At least” pretty much means it’s not going to be sooner than that, but we are close.
james, so in your opinion, based on the PC launch, when do you expect it to arrive?

Well, perhaps ‘Support’ (they have support?) should communicate with ‘aurick’, I mean - since he’s the moderator and all! At least then they could tell the same stories.
I apologize, but I’ve been hearing these ‘stories’ for over a YEAR, and it gets a little tiresome. Not only that, but on a more personal level - if it weren’t for the fact the I am an honorable man, and a man of my word (unlike some companies I know), I could tell you some stories that you’d find quite interesting. But alas, my word is my bond, and I won’t say what I’d like to.
Not only that, but I have no idea where I am on their stupid little ‘list’, although I filled out their little form the same day of the announcement. It could be WEEKS or even months before I even get a download link for all I know.
It’s totally inexcusable, and it’s as simple as that. They do as they bloody well please, and don’t care one little bit about their customers.
Actually, mistafreeze, that info is from me browsing through the thread from that time that was similar to this one after I bought 3.1, and yes, they had given a really late time frame, and everyone was still pissed! In that thread from a year and a half ago, though, I think it was around 10 or 11 in Cali when they released it. I browsed through it a while back, but I remember it was really late for everyone that wasn’t on the west coast.
They have always had releases around midnight as I recall… so it is 830ish pm in LA now… i would say we have a few more hours to go before the first batch is out…
I think the big mistake from them isn’t so much that they don’t inform people of how late it will be, it’s that they plan out late ass releases in general. Instead, they should treat it like Christmas, and plan out early releases. Give people a new toy to start the day off with! It’s the waking up excited, then waiting all day and into the wee hours of the night before it happens and it’s time to sleep that upsets everyone. Not to mention, with this one, they decided to bypass the 29th. Combine those two, and well, you will really piss Morbious off! :lol:
