Zartan - GI Joe Challenge

Hi everyone,

Here's a piece that I've for CG challenge that just wrapped up at CGhub.com. We were to model and sculpt a high resolution version of a character or vehicle. I made Zartan. Here are the renders! Had alot of fun in this challenge. Hope you guys like it.

Everything is done in Zbrush by the way.

This is really cool character, nice design and modeling.
I really like how you showed the whole process specially the mechanical shoulder plates. I haven’t got mech is ZB yet.

What tools do you use for the sharp mech? Mask or just brushes. Thanks.

Keep up the great work. Nice expression and pose.

Wow, great sculpt!

Cheers djart

@Cesar: Thank you Cesar! You’ve taught me alot not only about zbrush but observation, anatomy and creative expression in general. I’ve got a lot to learn still and I am at it 24/7 :D. Your words of encouragement are always most welcome!

@AVTPro: Thank you for the words of praise :D. Well the metal part topologized in zbrush like you see in the earlier images and then subdivided to a great level. Then I just masked out shapes and played around. Also experiment with alphas on high zintensities. The brushes that I find easy to work on metal parts with are claytubes, flatten, pinch(rarely) and layer.

@djart: Thank you :).

Here’s a cavity enhanced render.
