i wonder if this is even possible with zbrush´s 2.5d - pixol - system
Hi,
my wish for the future of ZBrush is more concerning about projects and folders like other 3d applications handle.
If you use programs like Max, Maya or Softimage you know they can create a project with a lot of folders where everyone of them is for a specific purpose: Audio for audio, Textures for textures, Scenes for scene, and so on…
Everytime you start the program, it will be “glued” to that project folder, so if you want to import a texture, it will open directly the “project/textures” folder, or if you want to export an obj for zbrush, it will open the folder you indicated in the project settings.
Well, I’d like to have the same benefit also in ZBrush, because the LAST DIRECTORY used is not so practical.
To explain better…
Actually I save all my tools in their directories according their name, i.e. "ZBrush/<name of tool>/<name of tool>_###.ztl, in order to facilitate managing of the assets.
Then I save the bmp of canvas on my desktop to send it by email/chat, so I changed the LAST DIRECTORY used.
Then if I want to save the actual tool in its folder because I made chages, ZBrush will open my desktop instead of the folder I need, so I have to click a lot to reach the right destination.
I don’t know how do you work, but I prefer having things in their own folders.
So I wish to have a project manager in ZBrush, at least to have ZBrush knows what folder open to load/save alpha/texture/tools/obj/project and whatever, I mean, I could save a list of folders to use next time in the new ZBR file in order to speed up workflow.
I don’t know if someone asked for it or it’s already available, but I’d like to have this feature especially when there are a lot of folders and paths grow.
Thanks.
I would really like if the layers would support blending modes (in polypainting).
Also, now that 3ds mas, maya and softimage support Vector displacement maps, it would be nice be able to create such maps in Zbrush.
Polygon masking
I’d like to be able to draw ‘dots’ on my object connected by lines and the area inside it would be masked. After placing the dots, one would be able to correct their position before confirming the mask.
Somehow like this:
With this we would be able to mask precise edges with very fast workflow compared to now that we have to mask the edges line by line, by eye, which doesn’t give too accurate result.
We do have nice masking tools and MaskCurve is my favorite so far but it can’t ‘fill masked areas’.
