thanks for your support!!!
Disco stu : For now, i only want to finish all the characters, make their posing and make a 3D print with a white or grey material. I’d like to show the result to producers who could be interested in the project. This is a “plus” if i want to make the movie.
Then when all the characters will be done , i’ll spend a lot of time on the texturing. I’m not sure i’m going to watercolour the characters. I’ll work like in “Antoine in the forest” with hand made textures and regular lighting. The most important thing is to find the good balance between the colours and the 3D rendering to keep a traditionnal look. But i want to keep the watercolor work for the BGs with traditional and camera mapping! This what i want to do for my next projects… i like to say that it’s my personal touch
guillom : Merci beaucoup!!! je suis passé voir ton travail. C’est très impressionnant! Mais pour être chez Ubi j’imagine qu’il faut être au moins aussi bon que toi non?
arthurduque : Thanks man! i’ll try to make my best!!
Luxo: Merci! j’ai vu des îles volantes dans ton book. N’aurais tu pas bossé sur chasseur de dragons par hasard?
ouai:lol: les iles viennent de chasseurs de dragons.
En ce moment, je bosse chez teamto.

sorry guys for the french part
We’ve just discovered taht Luxo and I are currently working in the same office
now let’s get back to ZB!!
Hi Cédric, Line looks great! Man, you’re a one man character factory ! quote: “je suis installé au dessus de la cuisine chez teamto figure toi” :strange how things go sometimes - it’s a small world… .
hey Etcher! just to give you an answer to “if you don’t mind: where do you teach, what subject, and what’s the age of your students?”
I’m a teacher in 2 schools in France:
1/ Ecole Emile Cohl in Lyon… I teach compositing, mix between 2D/3D, tips for animation etc… and i supervise all the short films projects of my students for their certificate… their age is between 22 and 24 years old.
2/ Ecole Georges Melies (EESA) in Orly… in this school i work with 1st year students (it’s a 4 years formation) so i teach drawing basics, observation, color (watercolor, gouache, acrylic…)… in order to make them understand how to make an animated short film, i also teach storyboard, lightboard and colorboard… when i have time i also help the 4th years students for their short films…age between 18 and 24 years old
But i prefer to say that i teach “visual kitchen” (in french “cuisine visuelle”)
because i like to mix all these technics and find tips and solutions for each project
Thanks for the reply. Lucky you - lucky students! I think that the term “cuisine visuelle” is great: really refers to problemsolving and creative thinking! !
nice to see that someone like you teaches.
at our uni the 3d teachers are very very very limited.
but then on the other side its just a graphic design uni
Hi!
here’s a new update of my interminable project ;)…
Martin’s low poly is ready for ZB. With him, Enzo, Mia and Guido i’ll have done 4 characters on 6. Line will be the next and Grand Ma is still in my head and not even drawn anywhere :D.
I’ve succeed to find all the documentation i needed for the bus (a fantastic bookshop in Paris, any vehicule you want they have!!!)… So i’ve decided to stop the one i was doing for a more respectfull model.
Hope you’ll still be there at the end of my project or maybe i’ll die first
[
](javascript:zb_insimg(‘136368’,‘WIP_MARTIN03.jpg’,1,0))great work on the things shown in the vid on ur blog
Ow yeah! Go baby go! ! Lookin’ forward to some pics of the bus progress too!
Etcher, now you put the pressure on me!
Unfortunately, the bus will be the last thing i’ll do! I’ll start it in 3 weeks, after the characters (if i succceed to finish them…one character a week…it’s difficult)
I wanted to thank you guys specioally, Etcher, Moni poroni, Disco stu to support me during this exausting project… i’m on ZB since februrary and sometimes i think i’m maybe too ambitious in my choices…but i can’t help myself…
So thanks to you (and my wife ) i have all the motivation i need to work on this project which is very important to me…
I hope that, one day, these sculpts will help me to produce the movie…and you’ll be all invited to the “Premiere”
I have to say – I love the whole project.
I love your sketches and the presentations – you and Etcher have amazing drawing skills! Kudos to both of you.
But I also love the 3D models.
Can´t wait to see them all together + the bus.
Nice to hear you are a teacher, by the way – lucky students.
Thanks Moni Poroni!
One very important thing when you teach is the fact that the more you explain stuffs the more you improve the understanding of what you do…i also love to discuss with my students. When you work, you don’t have all time you want to read books, comics, watch anime etcc… so when i see my students, they always keep me posted about new stuffs… it’s an exchange…and i love that…i think that i will never stop to be a teacher…
Yesterday, i was also thinking about being more a teacher than an art director… So i can find time for my projects and being paid too.
But if you i to be competitive i still need to work a lot in production (because i like that too …)
Hop! an update of TRAVEL TO MAMA’s project!!
today, it’s a national day of in France so i’ve decided to work on Martin’s face. I still have to work on his eyes…i think that i have to make the wards bigger than they are… for now Martin’s eyes are a bit scary no? OK! let’s fix that!
[
](javascript:zb_insimg(‘136508’,‘WIP_MARTIN04.jpg’,1,0))you have some great style going on in these models. they look really sweet. keep up the good work!
