Yona's Little Adventures...

Well Etcher
i’m lucky to work 60% for me and 40% for productions companies…
So i can find a lot of time
A strange phenomenon happens to me too that’s why i work so much… the more i post the more i want i to make updates… I think it’s very motivating to have comments even if they’re bad or even if it’s just to say that you like my work or the work of others modelers. Because these kind of comments don’t come often from your closest partners.
And some times, it’s a bit discouraging when you come on your thread and you don’t see any comments because you can have the feeling that the community doesn’t like your work
Don’t you think that it’s a kind of illness?? because i do

Totally agree! If it weren’t for ZBrush and ZBC my progress would be much slower (or even non-exsistant)! Never ever worry about lack of comments man, just look at the ever increasing pageviews on your thread: there’s so much goin’ on on ZBC, everybody needs more heads and arms (a pair to type comments- a pair to sculpt)! Sometimes you update even before I got the change to check out the previous update… so much energy is so inspiring :+1: !

Hey YONA, sorry for writing soo late. I don´t have four arms and two heads :frowning:
The update is great, Monsieur “I´m not a good modeler”.
But I can´t tell you which mask is my favourite. Tough decision!
I´m still amazed by the background story.
How on earth do you come up with these things?
Fantastic!

Oh i’m sorry…i didn’t want to say that i was waiting for comments
it’s a bit rude from me i’m sorry.

just a little update of ELVIS today… i still have a lot of work on him.
sorry again

I think he could use tinier legs heavily tapered. Love his expression.

thank you Womball for your advices.
I’m gonna draw directly on this shot to make the legs tinier he will look more fun but i’m not sure about tapering them. It’s a “cartoony” effect, and i don’t want that on him. I want him to be more realistic in his attitude just like this little buddy bellow. They are so strong and large that in most of my reference pictures their legs aren’t tapered.
I’ll post a retake about regarding your advice very soon! thanks for your help!!
:+1: :+1:

I said “YONA = Two updates per week (minimum)”.
Well…I have to revise up: Two updates per day.
You´re producing your beautiful pieces in a record breaking rate!

you are on the right way cedric, elvis looks so satisfied.http://zbrushcentral.com/zbc/images/smilies/biggrin2.gif i think the legs in the front look good.their’s no need to make them tinier.

Cédric?

Hm…yeah – where is he? No update? I can´t believe it!

sorry guys!!!
i had a rough week
Monday :3hours of train + 4 hours of briefing with a team for one of my tv series project pilot.
Tuesday : Still working on the edit of the same project
Wednesday : 4h hour of train + 8 hours in Lyon for teaching
Thursday : National day off …i needed to rest a bit with my wife
Friday (Today) : 2h of train + 6 hours in the other school in Orly…

  • i have a problem with my leg which hurts me a lot (i take pills since this morning…)

I think that i’ve worked to much these past 3 months… and i have to make some choices
I think i’m gonna stop the cgcoach contest…i mean, i don’t want to stop this project but i’m not sure that i’ll be on time…
PLUS, i’d like to start the story board of my animated feature film project.
I have the feeling that it’s the good time for this

so sorry guys for not giving you my “almost” daily update but you’ll have one tomorrow for sure!

Ow! You really had a rough week! With lots of interesting stuff though! Well, you sure went on rocket speed for your personal projects the last three months, don’t know how you can keep going at this pace! Hope the leg-thing won’t give you to much trouble - good health comes first. As for the CgCoach entry; I’m pretty sure that this beautiful creation will get some sort of role or cameo in “Travel to Mama”… ! :+1: . Have a nice Z-weekend!

“I think i’m gonna stop the cgcoach contest…i mean, i don’t want to stop this project but i’m not sure that i’ll be on time…”

Whaaaaa ?? There´s soooo much time left.
Please finish your Nightmaker! Remember – you have time until July (NOT June) the 24th.

FINALLY! I DID IT!!!
all the charcters of my projects are finished!!! it’s a relief and a very special day for me
Even if i still have to pose them it’s a 3 month effort which over today
With this update you can finally see the final version of GRANDMA and ELVIS (i’ll had a tooth and some details on his necklace in xsi before rendering him)…
I’ve the pose of LINE in my mind so i think i’m gonna try to make her pose probably tomorrow.
Tonight, i’ll take few hours to make a short update for CGCOACH contest (thank you Moni for your support  )
Hey Etcher, i think that this creature will be perfect for LIGHT FIELDS, my first project (you remember “antoine in the forest”)
Datadump, instead of zbrushing all the time, don’t forget to finish the bus, i’ll need it soon you little bastard!!

Hope you’ll like this update…
i’ll have more time for CGCOACH contest now that i only have to pose and render the family (which will takes a lot of time too  )

YONA, FINALLY YOU`RE BACK!!!

This is looking so great! Elvis and grandma are my favourite characters.

“Tonight, i’ll take few hours to make a short update for CGCOACH contest (thank you Moni for your support  )”

Heheh are you sure support is the right word? I think pressure would be more accurate.

Can´t wait to see the cgCoach update AND the update with the whole family. Posed.
Looks like the man with the plan is back!

Ow Yeah! This couple is great! I just opened a beer, so I’ll use that to toast to the finishing of the characters! :+1: ! Three months… but great stuff to show for it! Glad to hear that you’re gonna’ continue workin’ on the CgCoach entry - you’re right: perfect for “Light Fields” too. nd yes… Moni does have that special ability of motivating people… :+1: .

so nice !
du beau boulot ça made in france ^^ !
bravo

i post my cgcoach update here  :

Hi!
Here’s my new update for the contest. It seems that i’vent done so much but it’s not the case
I’ve spent a lot of time installing each mask all around the main body. I’ve also done the modeling of 3 type of lights which i have put on the main model and finally one leg/arm which will be multiplied. i wanted to make the installation of the lights now but legs/arms will be done in ZB after the sculpt in order to have the final version of each part.
You can also notice that there’s still some “holes” between masks but i’ll fill them with eyes and details done with alphas in ZB.

Now that the layout is done i’ll have to sculpt and refine each mask. I’ll have to model some new details (noses, etc…)

see you soon
hope you’ll like the update
and C&C are welcome

No I disagree – it doesn´t look like you haven´t done a lot.
I can imagine how much work it must have been.
Seems like you´ve had a lot of puzzle fun.

Fantastic progress! And the leg (is it a leg or an arm?) is soo cool, too.

I guess you´re working already on the next update?
