Nice! That ‘progress shot’ was particularly interesting - the sculpt seems quite stiff until the last stage, when it suddenly springs to life! This reminds me of my own sculpting efforts, where I actively dislike the results I’m getting until fairly late into the process. This is why I envy the awesome artists here who imbue their sculpts with life within a few strokes, now that’s mastery.

Anyway, I’m rambling. Good stuff, keep it up!

Played around with Hair and fur modifier in max and pretty happy with the results so far, still need to delete a few unseen planes and clean up some of its positions. Also worked more on the textures, where I used the polypaint from zbrush as a base texure in 3Dcoat and photoshop.

nagulov: Thank you! I know them feels. I really like your anatomy sculpts btw, straight into my inspiration folder

Second bust for the Tudor history project and this is my take on Katherine Parr, Henry VIII first wife. I used a basemesh for the head and extracted the rest from a mesh using the extract tool. Followed by dynamesh>zremesh>unwrap. I’m currently tweaking the sculpt and getting it ready for the baking process.
Henry VIII himself is about 90% done and will post the final image soon.

pabgo: cheers! I did notice as soon as I uploaded it, changed it now

Baking done, used xnormal and max in the process. Gave her a subtle pose, mainly on her eyes. Currently texturing in photoshop and 3dcoat.

Cheers!

Spent most of today texuring in photoshop and playing with marmoset. Paid more attention on the face compared to the rest of her, will come back to tweak this again later on. cheers!!

Long time no post! I have been quiet busy on some personal project and haven’t doodled as much. Used spheres and cylinders right at the start, then used dynamesh and zremesh towards the end. Rendered in marmoset.

Cheers!! x

Baking done and I’ve started working on her textures. Also added the plane hairs but still unhappy with the result.

Long time no post! anyway this is one of the project I have been working on for the past few months. There is also a big monument I am making in between (http://puu.sh/bmAjY/ab3108c15d.jpg http://puu.sh/bmAzJ/707abe5d5a.jpg ) and another separate character am working on towards my spare time.
I have been working on her this week, used a lot of recycled sub-tools from the previous models. Also used a lot of dynamesh and zremesh (with adapt turned off) on most of her outfit.

Cheers!

A bit more work on her, nearly finished her overall outfit. Her hat is currently missing a lot of bling.

cheers.

Love the Anne Boleyn:+1:

I’m really impressed with the progress you’ve made through the course of this thread. Keep up the good work

Started to add colour on her and added more on the head piece. Currently working on her low poly and setting her up for the baking stage.

Cheers!

Myselfsama: Thank you!
Dman3d: Glad you like her

Very beautiful work and detail. It’s like Hans Holbein or van Eyck!)

Made this today, hope it helps!

SMILER-thank you!

I love the dedication to reference and detail in your recent pieces. I really appreciate that last post about your workflow on the headpiece really helped. Nice sense of character and weight in her face already.
I’ll probably have some questions about your gold shader when you get to it. I spent so many hours tweaking my gold shader for my demo reel but it never came out the way I wanted it.
I’m going to take my time reading your mini tutorial. You’ve inspired me to today.:+1:small_orange_diamond:D I wish more people would do more historically inspired pieces.
