Actually, and thinking about it, I truly have to second Jantim. The ‘Violence’ tag should be equaly present. I have a strong opinion regarding works like Hellgate and equal works and would happily skip those in favor of the other Masterpieces.

The thing with that site and the reason I found it was due to my desire at the time to post things that weren’t appropriate for this forum or RR. But you know how the need to post your work is, so I found that site. Posted a couple of goodies, but havent been there in ages. Did get alot of questions about zbrush then from the viewers though. Alot of Poser paper doll porn…made me yawn so I came back home to zbc like a good boy. anyhoo…
Person thoughts on the gore and violence (which I personally love to depict) on RR, I use the violence tags…and normally I don’t get toooooo carried away here, but have put a mention of the violence, blood, gore or whatever in my titles…not always but I do try to remember.
The other thing for me…violence and death are natural things…nudity is natural…and I see nudity daily…no big…(hey a fellow has to bathe ) and violence and death are always everpresent…you see it on the sides of highways, roadkill, funerals…
Porn and erotica are choices I may or may not choose to view.

A lot of things are natural, but do you want to see them? An old man or a dog taking a dump is natural, but I don’t want to see that. I might laugh at it, but I still don’t want to see it.
Not to get off topic, but this also reminds me of some debate about a story I heard a long time ago about a group of women trying to get a law past that would let them breast feed their babies in public or at work. Their argument was that it was only natural and that they felt inconvenienced by having to go somewhere private to do that.
My answer to that is the same as above. I remember saying this to myself while staring at the television shaking my head. “Well madam, I have to take my morning constitution, would you mind if I squated in front of you? It’s only natural”.
Eating is natural, sleeping is natural, relations between a husband and wife are natural, but there’s a time and place for those things because we humans are not animals and we have ( or used to have ) a thing called “dignity”, “decency”, and dare I say “modesty”.
These kinds of debates goes on all the time. The art field is no different from any other field. Some like to redifine the debate based on their claims that it’s an “artform” or an “expression”.
The same principle applies no matter what the context or medium is. Just like the endowment for the arts will have artistic displays depicting a cross in a glass jar of urine and somehow it is taken as acceptable because it is classified as “art”. We all know the firestorm of debate that raised.
I guess we have these debates because we live in a day and age of an existentialist society. With each passing generation which has it’s own ideas, values, and beliefs which have a less and less shared commonality, the debate continures. Today’s inappropriate is tomorrow’s appropriate.

We see a lot of monster, creepy creatures, bloody things and so on on Zbrush central. My questions is very simple; between these pics and a nudity cg pic which one is most disturbing to the viewer?
Banning nudity is not a solution but if we put a tag for it, then let put a tag on the one containing blood, deformed faces…
Maybe we should just create a nudity spot on this forum;)

With the exception of a few serial killers in the world, I don’t think that it really excites a person enough to go out and hurt someone. Though visually graphic as gore can be depicted on the computer or in movies…(CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST or even MURDER SET PIECES) it turns most people away. They have an extremely small niche’ in the world.

Porn…I would dare to say most people at some point in their lives are exposed to that…and some stay hooked on it…the internet has proved that…(when is the last time you were spammed by a gore type site?..) Porn is obviously more popular…I go out and try to find the most violent sites imaginable for idle curiosity, they are relatively far and few in between. In my earlier net days, yeah I sought out the adult sites…there is no difficulty in finding stuff to say the least. And on the subject of natural stuff… ie the doo doo, scat and fecophiliac sites…lol they are plentiful. And no I am not into that …shudders…we sat down one night just throwing random "dirty " words into google to see what would come up…there was not one smutty word we used that didn’t have plentiful matches. No telling what we would find now if I did that again. snicker…it was funny though
I worked at our maximum security prison for a year in Nashville, several years ago. Saw and met the worst of the worst there…most of them owned alot of porn…never once found a Fangoria magazine laying anywhere in any cell I ever shook down.
There are alot more rapists in the system than Jason Voorhees type killers for sure.
Not against porn (cept kiddie porn and barnyard porn…nothing redeeming in that subject for me) but there is a time and place for most everything.
and btw…one of our earlier foremost artists did sneak porn onto the forum a couple of times…it was quickly taken down by the mods here, but he deliberately exposed the forum to a zsphere model giving itself …hmmm let’s say a digitally performed prostate check while on all fours…made me laugh…but zbc was not the place for that…
I normally leave butterflies and puppy dog images to other people to depict (though I have had my own moments ) because I like the darker stuff…And when zbc ever puts a Violence tag in place I will religiously use it because then it has become the law of the land at zbc which I call home and have called home for the past 5 years.

I remember the picture in question you were taling about. I saw one before just like it that someone did with Photoshop of a real person. It does remind me of a few people I know hehe.
I like monsters and things like that too as long as it’s not tooo over the top. I’ve been a horror and science fiction fan myself and I’ll never forget watching the first real gore movie back in the late 70’s I think. “Dawn of the dead”. I still remember as a kid watching that biker in the mall who fell off his bike and a bunch of zombies ripped his stomach open… well you know the rest.
Moderation for me I guess, as long as it’s not overly gory.
