With the exception of a few serial killers in the world, I don’t think that it really excites a person enough to go out and hurt someone. Though visually graphic as gore can be depicted on the computer or in movies…(CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST or even MURDER SET PIECES) it turns most people away. They have an extremely small niche’ in the world.

Porn…I would dare to say most people at some point in their lives are exposed to that…and some stay hooked on it…the internet has proved that…(when is the last time you were spammed by a gore type site?..) Porn is obviously more popular…I go out and try to find the most violent sites imaginable for idle curiosity, they are relatively far and few in between. In my earlier net days, yeah I sought out the adult sites…there is no difficulty in finding stuff to say the least. And on the subject of natural stuff… ie the doo doo, scat and fecophiliac sites…lol they are plentiful. And no I am not into that …shudders…we sat down one night just throwing random "dirty " words into google to see what would come up…there was not one smutty word we used that didn’t have plentiful matches. No telling what we would find now if I did that again. snicker…it was funny though
I worked at our maximum security prison for a year in Nashville, several years ago. Saw and met the worst of the worst there…most of them owned alot of porn…never once found a Fangoria magazine laying anywhere in any cell I ever shook down.
There are alot more rapists in the system than Jason Voorhees type killers for sure.
Not against porn (cept kiddie porn and barnyard porn…nothing redeeming in that subject for me) but there is a time and place for most everything.
and btw…one of our earlier foremost artists did sneak porn onto the forum a couple of times…it was quickly taken down by the mods here, but he deliberately exposed the forum to a zsphere model giving itself …hmmm let’s say a digitally performed prostate check while on all fours…made me laugh…but zbc was not the place for that…
I normally leave butterflies and puppy dog images to other people to depict (though I have had my own moments ) because I like the darker stuff…And when zbc ever puts a Violence tag in place I will religiously use it because then it has become the law of the land at zbc which I call home and have called home for the past 5 years.

I like monsters and things like that too as long as it’s not tooo over the top. I’ve been a horror and science fiction fan myself and I’ll never forget watching the first real gore movie back in the late 70’s I think. “Dawn of the dead”. I still remember as a kid watching that biker in the mall who fell off his bike and a bunch of zombies ripped his stomach open… well you know the rest.
Moderation for me I guess, as long as it’s not overly gory.

Woody, yeah Dawn of the Dead is a perfect example of what is in discussion here…that movie was the turning point for me…I was too young to see it, but they let me in anyways…midnight movie…took a taxi across town…the radio commercial hooked me to see it…sat in the second row…and that was truly my turning point into gore…When I saw the tenament scene where the swat members were driving the people out of the housing…and the Miquel zombie bit his wife’s neck and forearm…I was forever hooked…I had never seen anything that realistic etc…and it literally did something to me…and have been striving for that realism and shock effect ever since. Romero and Savinni scarred me forever…love em to death but they are the ones responsible for me being the gorehound I am today…but my point being had my mother screened my activities I would not have went to that showing…and wouldnt be the twisted artist I am today…because that was the turning point from Star Wars and Frankenstein, Wolfman, Dracula and the Mummy to something way more sinister in my own visions of what scares a person…and here we are. I was at the right place at the right time, but unsupervised…
January should prove a good month for horror…Bloodrayne, Feast, and Underworld II…

As a parent of a 12 year old son and a 14 year old daughter…I monitor their net activities like a hawk… But they know that if they see something questionable, their father will more than happily have a family discussion about something they have read or seen. The inet is the tree of knowledge full of forbidden fruit…and I have to stay on top of things to let them know what fruit is good and what is bad and why…and for most five year olds…hmmmm well I didnt let my kids on the net till 2 years ago…and their time is still extremely limited…knowledge good or bad doesn’t really do anything on it’s own until it’s acted upon…and hopefully I have instilled enough sound beliefs in my kids that when I happen to not be around they wll have enough common sense to steer clear of objectionable (sp?) materials. They see my dark art…ie monsters and zombies and either go that looks pretty kewl, daddy or most fo the time just yawn and go on about their business…
My daughters art consists of drawing pics of hearts ripped in half with wings on them …depicting lost boyfriends, or how pseudo badly she has it growing up in a strict household…lol…it really cracks me up sometimes…or when I sat her down for a somewhat serious sketching session…she likes to draw medieval woman in armor also…
My son…Pokemon type monsters, cars, and Digimon stuff…but most of his time is spent playing the latest video games…One time we had him on the computer when he was alot younger and he was logged into the Nickelodeon site for kids…playing some game…and he called to me…said the computer was doing something…I walked over and some dang pop up had locked up the computer and was uploading an erotic pic of a beautiful Asian girl fully nude…told him to close his eyes until the computer rebooted…stuff happens…I was mad about it…but it was something alot of people experience one way or another whilst on the net…
teach your kids and supervise their activities and alot of problems will go away or be nipped in the bud before they ever become a problem.
Now the grownups that experience whatever unpleasant…I would say don’t click on untrusted links…and if you know your artist and they make ugly pics like mine, don’t click on the links or thumbnails…

mostly agree with Pixologic’s stand on it but did see some “dangly bits” in the bottom row for quite some time before they were ummmmm snipped. Knew they would eventually be but found it interesting to be thinking…
