Vray sss2 head

NOW IT’S PERFECT! The image called 27b, I mean. Beautiful, it’s done.

Except for some hair maybe.

:+1: :+1: :+1:

Indeed outstanding. What is your lighting setup? Can you talk a little bit about your approach.

Nicely done pitchpuck… eyes are looking great too! care to share the material set up for the skin and eyes? I gotta go back to my own testing cheers mate

That’s photorealism!!, he is alive now!, love his eyes. great great job, now with a little of hair, and this gonna look even better!.:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Will you make me a vampire version of him, too? Just for me? It’s so realistic, so utterly believable, I’d just love to see some teeth and fangs and a hint of a smile. Come on… vampires are reallllllly popular. Don’t make me come over there…

lol

:+1:

dude!! very impressive!! good job, thanks for sharing your approach and your parameters with vray!! it’s help a lot…:+1:

I added some hair for tests. I´m not happy yet. I will work on in

hmm, nice nice
could u tell me , whats the advantages and disadvantages of v-ray blend?

nice! realistic skin and naturaly expresive face  :+1:

wow pitchepuck thats really awesome …do you mind showing the head without the shader …the skin looks so good man…one of the best cg heads here on zbc…what reference did you used…wirklich sehr gute arbeit…bin gespannt was noch kommt

Great result.

The hair looks good. Does that hair generator give you the option of tapering the ends of the hairs, or adding transparency to the ends, etc.? That could help, I think.

Also, it’s shadows being cast seem right, but the problem with most of these hair generators is the hairs don’t seem to have self-shading. One wishes they would get better, across the industry.

Hey my friend, long time no talk.
I just saw your new updates and I have to say it`s looking fantastic!!
Great job! I love the eyes and the lips. :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

approaching photorealism here
This is getting to be a great thred, thx for sharing your work!

Would really appreciate if you could shred some light on your approach to the eyes, they’re looking great

Definitely improving with each new shot.

I´m still not finished with this head… and I overworked the eyes again. new updates coming soon. and I will finally post some shader settings.

@hun when using sss2 blended with a Vray Mat it seems to have more possibilities for setting the specular… but I´m not sure. actually the standart sss2 spec parameter are sufficient

@O/MI I already posted the mesh without shader. but the model has changed a bit during the workprocess

@Eric the hair is done with hairtrix. I generated meshes out of the hair. so they have selfshading.

@ moni hello my friend! welcome back! thanks ! but I´m not happy yet…
okay…I should turn on my ICQ again

@ incryo I will post some details about the eyes soon. thanks

@ rouncer … yes I hope so <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”> thanks

any chance of some updated material settings? or are they much the same now as the ones in the first post?

@ robo yes I will post all settings when I´m done. there are so many changes.

now a new update. there are some problems I ve with the shader. when the light is too bright the skincolors start to burn out. so the skin should only get brighter but what happens is that the skin turns yellow and red with artefacts on the border of the bright parts… looks very bad! I don´t know how to fix it… only solution is to make the light not too bright. but then most rendered pictures turned out too dark…

maybe someone has a solution for that.

here are some quite good results whith new eyes…

Really great work! :+1:
How did you make the wetness in his eyes? I always had problems with this. I mostly use extra geometry for this but i never turns out, like it should be haha
Is it maya, max or which 3D application do you use?
Keep it going!

Wow, very well done. The last render look incredible! It will be very usefull if you could share the eye setting :frowning: I try a lot of setup but they never look like yours
