That Stylised Head Looks amazing dude!! You really captured anime in 3d perfectly, your killing it in this thread keep up the awesome work

Decided to reincarnate my abandoned character and make her a good friend to my new heroine Nastya and set them to postapocalyptic world of future that is full of zombies, mutants, raiders, drones and robots etc. Just a test renders to see how far can I get with only Zbrush BPR render. The final result is a combination of many renders in Photoshop. The wet look is intentional - I just love see them shiny and sweaty.
Thanks to Rafael Grasetti for wonderful tutorial.
High res image could be found on my Artstation page (under the Freckles). Good luck everyone!
PS Gosh, I’m so perverted. I should stop making girls with boobs and finish at least one male or creature sculpt.

This is some really nice work, glad to see you’re continuing this character model, though she still looked great as a Centauress :stuck_out_tongue: it’ll be interesting to see what you do with her.

hey buddy, welcome back.can’t wait to see what you gonna do with this babe.:D;)

AnthonyA85
Thanks a lot, Anthony! Yeah, creating centaur girl was a lot of fun and I still might come back to her one day. But she have changed quite a lot when I made a human version of her. After such a long break, when I opened this sculpt again I realized how many anatomical mistakes she has. So I reworked the sculpt and hopefully she looks better now while still recognizable. Still there are plenty areas that look odd and might be improved… but from other side I don’t really strive for full realism so I might leave some exaggerations.

Diablo
Thanks buddy, glad you like it. As I wrote you earlier I really wanna turn this into a series of images in post-apocalyptic world. For now I will start with stuff that I do best - sculpt heroines, then practice lots of clothes to dress my girls. Really want to make tight suits (in Evangelion style) and exoskeletons. So yeah, I will start with simple “fan-service” stuff and hopefully when my skills will grow I will push it to the next level. I would like to show relationships between two girls, how they adapt and react to this new and dangerous world and finally became almost like sisters. But this requires much more efforts than just sculpting girls and props. So I will start learning human emotions and sculpt different expressions for later more serious renders.

Thanks again guys for your support - it means a lot to me.

Ouch! I forgot how to sculpt clothes. Should practice more. Found a cool dress design in Internet and decided to recreate it from memory. Plus the pose in photo was different so I was forced to figure out how the drapery would react on different body position. In real prototype the fabric is quite soft causing a very boring folds. I experimented with material and made it more wrinkling. But I’m afraid I overdid it, especially on the sides (I doubt that original dress has so much gathered fabric that obscures the waist). But to justify myself a bit, I should admit that sculpting freely hanging folds is far harder than those on shirt or pants. First of all there is a lack of dynamic, then they are tubular in cross section so it is very tedious to maintain the shape consistence and not make them lumpy (mine here a still not clean enough :().
So yeah, I consider this as an outtake. But still posting images in case there are fans like me enjoying the “Sideboob” thing

Not bad  if you’re having trouble with the clothes, you could try using Marvelous Designer, they have a monthly or yearly subscription, or perpetual license, and a 15 day free trial.

Thanks! I was expecting people suggesting Marvelous designer. But I don’t really like the fact that so much stuff in 3D now is authomated and prefer do everything myself (like modeling basemeshes, retopo, painting textures with brushes, UV layout, clothing etc). All this stuff is a lot of fun or just very good exercise for brain.
But sure that softwares like this are really handy for production where time is money.

Pretty fking bad ass man! I mostly lurk but I thought I’d just say I love your stuff.

Every time I’ve used MD, I’ve always ended up sculpting clothes by myself. But I guess it’s also a lack of understanding the rules of sewing and fabric types.

Well, sometimes I’ve simulated “basemeshes” in MD to get the overall fitting with very quick and sloppy sewing, and retopoed them in Blender for further sculpting, kind of a hybrid technique… or I’ve just created basemeshes from a scratch, like it’s normally done.

The traditional sculpting clothes by yourself worries me from an anatomical standpoint. I wouldn’t want to lose too much of the underlaying anatomy. And yeah, I’m kind of a semi-novice with sculpting clothes. Wrinkles and folds aren’t hard, but quite challenging to make convincing.

But on the contrary, MD tends to lick the body too much, which isn’t great either. ;D …but those are most likely my sewing and fabric settings issues… I guess I haven’t just got comfortable enough with Marvelous Desiger, so the manual way has been the “easier” way for me lately. Still I wouldn’t mind sculpting some minor tweaks if I’ll ever get a succesful simulation in MD someday. (;

Thank you very much. This type of support is always inspiring and means a lot.

Yeah, I also can use simple simulation in Blender to conform my low-poly cloth to the underlying surface and treat it as my basemesh. I don’t mind doing this cause fitting drapery is not really hard task but rather tedious and boring process, far from being artistic. I think that sculpting/drawing clothes is some sort of a special language within art. It requires a lot of understanding but the result is so much rewarding. And the process has a lot of fun. So people who letting computer to do the whole work instead miss very important aspect of sculpting.

There are others, but should be polished more

just Woow.now you add the hair, she looks gorgeous.I really like this hair style.;) are you gonna use fibers for the final hair or you planning to make a game-res or you wanna go for stylized?? keep it up buddy.

Thank you very much, Diablo!
I wanna experiment a bit and make a particle hair in Blender. The Fibermesh is fine too but since I’m planning to do the final renders in Cycles (rendering engine in Blender) I think it would be more efficient doing this way. Cause exporting Fibermesh as a guides is a real headache due to very buggy exporter. Plus I can use simulations and dynamics for different projects.
This is only one hair type from many I did. What is cool that I can use pretty much all of them during the story. I know that postapocalypse isn’t the best cause to make pretty hairstyles but hopefully I will find a reason to explain it.

I should continue working on my main heroine. So to warm up after the long break I did a quick sculpt of a guy. Maybe he will come in handy one day… as a generic bad guy or so.
ZGrab01.jpg

hey buddy, how are you these days?? that’s a nice idea (making a bad guy).the only thing that’s bothering me is that his face is too smooth.waiting to see more.

Hi and thanks! Yeah, I’m still alive and keep working on my project. Sure, this face is totally symmetrical and too smooth. That was just a quick practice (about 5 hours or so). I’m also planning to do a third main character - humanoid robot, so I wanted to refresh some shapes in my mind before making more important stuff.

Instead of realistic fantasy style I picked this one with mindless clothing design. Just for fun. And just because I really love her forms and it is a shame to hide her body underneath lots of clothes. Also the final render would not be serious but rather comical and funny.
Unfortunately, judging by many responses I’ve received already, people aren’t into this body type and especially the breasts: “Make them more spherical, lift them up, don’t make nipples so puffy and blah blah”. Meh, regardless I will stick with her. I might experiment with a cleavage and push-up later, but I really like this natural feel of heavy and natural breasts.
So, I decided to make a sorceress. And in the final render she is supposed to fight against a dragon. Lots of props are almost ready, like magic book, bottles with potions, magic stick, pet etc. The clothing is also roughed out, I just need to clean up them and add details. So hopefully I will upload a better update soon.
I did several hairstyles but this one was initially made for Nastya as a fantasy character. The other ones will be used in main project about postapocaliptic world (in a mean time I write a small story to make a characters more believable). I bet no one will read it but I will post it somewhere anyways. Maybe I’ll create a separate blog for it.
PS The face and body aren’t finished yet. Speaking about the face I’m planning to do numerous expressions with layers so the asymmetry would be also achieved this way.

nah, don’t listen to those nonsense.personally I prefer natural breasts too.sometimes they may not seem perfect (aside this girl’s.hehe:lol: ) but at least you know that they’re not fake.
so I assure you,she looks gorgeous right now.and I really like the hair style too.Can you explain a bit about how you did the hair??cuz it looks really cool.I think you could post a few more shots from her clothes, accessories & that pet (maybe tomorrow?? hehe:D:D).I don’t care about others.I wanna read that story so you better come up with something interesting.just take your time.no rush;);). well it’s nice to see your works again buddy.hope you can finish them soon.can’t wait to see her fighting with that dragon.good luck & have fun.;)

Yeah, nature rules! Have no idea why some guys prefer dolls with fake boobs, bums, lips etc. It is so sad to see how modern fashion brainwashes people’s mind, introducing some stupid standards so if a person doesn’t fit them he/she cannot be called beautiful. As a result we see weird stuff like beauty pageants in South Korea where many girls are surgically enhanced and they all look just the same, no personality at all. Or this scary tendency for fake ballooned boobs. I think that even from artistic standpoint natural breast with its different curves above and below nipple is far interesting to watch then equal hemisphere in most implants. But well, it is a matter of personal choice of course. Just sad to realize that there are not so many people sharing similar tastes with me.

The hair is really simple to do, though the cleanup process might be quite tedious. At first I painted a scalp and extracted mesh with some thickness from character’s head. Duplicated them for other hairstyles to ensure that hairline will remain the same regardless the hairdress. Then I redynameshed with relatively low resolution and started pulling down main shapes, constantly remeshing. Suggested the hair part in early stages to make hair locks flow properly and started marking them with dam_standard. When I was happy with overall volume I started pulling separate swirls with Snakehook brush to break the silhouette. The next stage was like solving a puzzle: connecting the beginning of curl at the top with this swirls at the end. And not just connecting, but rather think about layering, thickness, natural flow, overlapping and the aesthetics of curves. Then I Zremeshed it quickly so I don’t need to throw insane amount of polygons for clean result and started refining the haircut. Usually I add the volume for clump with clay_buildup, then define its borders with dam_standard in additive mode so it looks nice and structural. Then polish it with Trim_dynamic or H_polish. That’s pretty much it. The most cool stuff that as I said this type of hair has a lot of structure, volume and plane changes so even without details it looks acceptable. I did some other hairstyles: with short or very straight hair and I was forced to sculpt much finer strands due to the relative simplicity of the overall shape.

Yes, I hope to upload more images very soon. Most of things are pretty much finished. Though the pet requires a lot of work. Right now I did it entirely sculptural, but for final render with textures I will redo its coat again (don’t want to spoil right now about who the pet is is). And speaking about the story - I’m not really a writer but I will do my best :). I wrote quite a lot for now, but all this stuff should be translated to English. So it takes some time.
Thanks a lot for visiting and good luck :+1:
