The hair really transforms it IMO
It’s come along way since you started. Looks good. It’s missing something though. Not sure what. Maybe different lighting may help.
It’s looking great
I agree, the hair does transform it somewhat. I’m sorry you had no luck with the website though, I had a deeper look at it the other day as well - but couldn’t find anything of use. I did see a Mystic pic, but each is probably different because the tail on it had some sort of armour covering it.
I like the idea of adding some “earthy reds”, it should help the look a lot. They actually shot the film using red light-gels to help give the movie it’s atmosphere.
yup… so much better with hairs!!
Looking good. Like the mats and hair thus far.
Fark mate! Some fine work here Eddiesmall_orange_diamond
nitro777 : thanks mate
GulagOne : Yer i know what you mean, i still have loads to do, a walking stick and lots of refining… the lighting is just a turn table set up at the moment and will be changed to fit the mood when everything else is finished
pumeco : Thanks mate, i’ll have aply with the lighting when the modelling and texturings finished… Red-gel lighting sounds intresting, i was thinking of going blue/ purple root giving a mystical look. the image is very earthy at the moment, so hopefully the reds will contrast it alittle bringing it more to life… im finding it really hard getting the right shad at the moment.
Sebcesoir / Chris Spade : thanks guys its getting there
daddymack : Hey man, nice to see you around, havent spoken to you for ages, are you getting into ZB, would love to see you individual stye of pics on the forum.
Hi Eddie, I’ve been Zbrushing for 2 years now (successfully for 1:lol: ) I’ve been working out ways to incorporate the power into animation pipelines with my IdCrisis series which I’m wipping away at v2 atm, you can find it here
Also in my cgportfolio you’ll find v1 (second image)
I’m also teaching Zbrush & pipelines at some of Sydney elite campuses atm so I had to learn all there is about the package and its ins and outs… I’ve been putting in around 20 hrs/week into the app and loving it!
You wanna battle or collab on a theme or 2 when 3 hits?.. I’d love to work with/ against you mate;)
lol… illl consider myself corrected mate
a battle sounds cool mate, need to finish this one first, i gunna switch to maya after this project so hopefully ill be able to keep up…
I remember seeing your morph stuff, thought it was really cool, i thought i commented on it at the time, i really like you Stay pic it made me chuckle
last update for the weekend, still lots to do, any body know how to get a good rope/sting shader ?
Hope you didn’t take that the wrong way Eddie, I’ve been a closet Zbrush user for 2 years and I am finally timidly emerging…
Once I knock over Id2 I’ll be glove slapping you though, I think it’d be a great way to push each other while cutting our teeth in ZB3.
Stay! was fun mate cheers;)
BTW, this Uruh is looking really vibed… You’ve got the whole spirit guide thang going with him man… Henson is a legend… I’ll keep an eye in here, I wanna see where you take this awesome piece to
Good luck
looking really good, well done, this is not a easy guy to duplicate, so far very well done.
Four armed creatures are awesome, you get alot of milage from that first hand great work, I think you’ve captured the likeness quite well, keep it up.
Thanks guys, im not sure where im going with this model, originally it was just going to be a model for my reel, but now i would like to do a full image for it… which may be a nightmare coz its very poly intensive, which mean rigging would take weeks…
Anyway heres an update and lists of todo’s
Walking stick
Tail (needs to be improved allot)
Hair / head and body
more little trinkets and lucky charms
Another run on textures / things like mud on shoes and stuff
and anything else you guys would like to add
update so far
Hey Eddie, thats one of the best 3D reproduction of that character I’ve seen up to now!!! Great work man!
For your rigging probleme, If you are using like Maya or 3D Studio Max, you can make a lower version of your model to drive the high rez, In maya its called Wrap Deformer, not sure in 3D Studio Max how its called, but its possible. So you could have that which would speed up your rigging process. And you animate or pose the low rez and it will deform the High Rez!
That would be the best work around for that I think!
Keep up the excelent work, looking forward to see it finished!
Cheers!
Jonny
thanks mate they do have a multi res tingy in max, i’ll give it a go, i did manage to skin the neck, so posed it alittle.
here ya go guy’s some more tweaking… nearly there now, just need to do some extra details and then the lighting
Hey Eddie!
This is looking GREAT!
