updated sketchbook - still learning

And here is the render with the compositing layers, rendered it with the skinbase4 material and having no clue of BPR render and so on!
Will render him out in 3dsmax with vray and trying out the SSS:)
Comments and critiques are more than welcomed and really thank you all for taking your time posting in my sketchbook!
All the best to you all,

  • Kenny:)

nice job bro. keep going

Looks really really good! You could also try SSS in Zbrush? Try loading from lightbox under projects the “SSS Startup” project, then load your Ztool, now the material from the SSS Startup project will be loaded into your material list. The material in SSS Startup is a tri shader with a skin mat, Fresnel (I think) and something else that’s already set up for basic SSS. Then you just have to play with the settings. The Zbrush documentation explains them all fairly well, you can also google tutorials for suggested SSS tweaking etc.

Hi Kenny, This last portrait really turned out great! Keep up the good work buddy! cheers, David

what to say… you’re getting better and better with every single sculpt!

Cheers,
Svyat

Mate, coming along really nicely, I enjoy seeing how quickly you are improving and Hope myself to be able to catch up soon! keep it up, always looking forward to seeing more work from you.

-Sam

Good work Kenny  Nice fiber mesh try

Regards,

Chris

Good bust - did you use Spotlight for the texturing?
Would be cool to see your reference and how close you achieved the original. However - again great progress on your side!
Keep it coming!

Hi Kenny!

Excellent work with your sculpt! Nice, clean topology as well! Looking forward to seeing your V-Ray render!

@Hondo_1 - Thanks mate really appreciate it

@Senka - Thank you so much for the great advice, I definenenly will look and study it mate! By the way, will upload a update on the rendering I tried it out and maybe it turned out better this time

@chalkman - David my friend it is always a pleasure hearing from you  really thanks mate:)

@Faircat - Big thanks Svyat , I really appreciate it and thanks for the kind feedback!

@sammehSAMURAI - Thanks buddy  Yeah you will catch up soon I bet:+1:

@alienGraphic - Merci mon ami  - Thanks for stopping by, means a lot to me mate:)

@VISEone - Thanks for the feedback my friend, yeah I used spotlight for texturing. Did never use it and did a tutorial last weekend and couldn’t believe how fast this is and how powerful, I used to texture my models in zapplink and that took like 1 hour longer to texture^^ Will post the reference soon mate

@FoxHound1984 - Thank you so much , I really appreciate hearing from you! I will definently try my best with the rendering, having major issues ^^

Thank you all so much, this is great to get a feedback , I would have never thought of getting so many kind comments in my sketchbook!
All the best to you guys - Happy ZBrushing

Small Update on the BPR render, did a quick tutorial which I got a good advice from “Senka”.
Hope you guys like it better than the old render, comments and critics are more than welcomed!

I think your busts are looking really good Kenny especially for the short time your spending on them. I know next to nothing about rendering so I’m unable to give you any good crits on that front.

Ezra

Looking very good Kenny! There are some odd shadows on the left side of his face, mostly on the jaw line!

Your sculpting is really getting awesome! Cheers, David

Excellent, much better than the previous render in my opinion. Did you enable SSS on the second lightsource, which I believe is behind the model? Just mess around with the material / render sss settings if you want a quick way to tweak the skin tones. Also, how did you do the stubble? I’m wondering how I can add it to my character I’m working on at the moment, was it a very sharp polypaint alpha / spray? I had a quick try of doing it with polypaint but I don’t think I had enough resolution in my mesh to do it right (3.9 mil for the head?).

And you might be able to fix up those weird shadows with a soft light from that left side, unless it’s just a stray setting somewhere. Good luck!

you’re improving, its good to see. I’m a bit tired to critique directly, but I would do some sculpts from photos. Learn how flesh falls and flows. you wont believe how quickly you’ll improve

Good good good! improving work!
Regards,

Chris

nice try on fibermesh man, i need to spend more time on how to do a good render with fiber mesh, anyway, good work!!
Keep it up!!

Best,
Frank

@Ezra52 - Thank youso much ezra for the kind feedback! Yeah the rendering is really some intense work ^^

@chalkman - Yeah thank you David for stopping by, really appreciate your advice with the odd shadow on the right! Thanks for telling mate

@Senka - Merci mate, really appreciate you kind words! Glad you like it better thatn before! Yeah i tried to use SSS  The stubble are just fibermesh, actually I wanted to see them better, but somehow they dissapeared  Yeah depends I got this model on 1,6 million polygons  I think that is ok or enough for just a head

@FramedWorld - Yeah great for stopping by Matthew, really appreciate your kinds words and for judging my work! Actually I am sculpting with references of 3dsk or other, I am using a lot references of stars, like my next one is Clint Eastwood

@aliengraphic - Thank you crhis buddy, really like your work aswell

@Frank_Tseng - Oh my god thank you so much Frank for stopping by and giving ma a nice feedback, you truely are a inspiration for me, well the fibermesh is the fastest part of the whole render but thanks anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Tonights session will be creature design again, so hopefully there will be a nice one

Keep goin’ my friend

See ya

Chris

you have a great perseverance and your improvement speed is great.
just pay attention to the face proportions a little more.

good luck
