UDK Realtime - Davyjones and other characters

So much talent! The facehugger is scary as ****, but I love it!

agreed, awesome thread and love the work so much :open_mouth:

WOw!. I still can’t believe that this is real time. How did you use the DX11 tessellation?

stunning quality! … this thread is awesome … congratz

… can’t wait with what you come up next

Thank you for comment!

DX11?

DX11 Tessellation is a standard feature of the Marmoset toolbag.
Don’t Forget. Need a graphics card that supports DX11.

Normalmap & Displacementmap

Tessellation OFF

Tessellation ON

And, my favorite feature.
This is what I think everyone should use.

Great!!!

A pity, that this can`t be achieved within gameengines like Unity and UDK yet…

Yes it can. UDK has all of these features right now. It’s just not popular yet because there are no consoles that can utilize them yet. Unity 4 also has all of these DX11 features.

Yosuke Ishikawa, thank you for bringing next generation technology to everyone’s attention at Zbrush Central. The future is bright. Keep up the excellent work!

Though I love both the creatures that you have made, the gorilla is especially brilliant… how did you get the fur on it?

Excellent work! Thanks for the demo as well.

I have one question, what were the settings you used to bake out displacement maps from zbrush?

Very creative and well executed. Definitely inspiring works!

For all of the people that keep asking about the gorilla fur. Why ask questions without even reading the posts. He has answered the gorilla fur - and even included his alpha mask images along with his placement technique of the alpha fur cards twice. However, it appears that it is easier lean on the side of lazy instead of really appreciate this talent and read the full thread. If you took a couple minutes to exercise your right to read you might see the multitude of time and effort that the artist has invested in this thread answering questions, explaining techniques, posting requested imagery, etc. :+1: To the lazy!

Sorry for the rant - just frustrating. CONGRATS on the Top Row! Looking forward to further works. *FOLLOWING

@Vrex

Dude, calm down. He’ll find your comments eventually, so there’s no need to bump the thread that way. And secondy, I doubt he is (or most of the artists around here including me) giving you a model for free he has spent a good amount of time by making it from a scratch.

But, forgetting that incident… I’d like to know how you achieved that damn good-looking displacement/height map?

What fantastic models! I’d like to buy the King Kong and V-Rex models but have a question; Would a Skeleton/Armature be included? Thank you!

@VRex: You realize this thread is several YEARS old, don’t you? The last time the author of the thread replied was in 2012! That’s three years of no activity. It’s entirely possible that the original author of the thread is either too busy to post or may have moved to a different app like Mudbox or 3DCoat. Anything could have happened in those three years. Don’t hold your breath for a reply.
