Twitch's March to Greatness

First go at adding some texture:

I haven’t posted in about a week, but I have been busy. I picked up some modeling clay a few days ago and tried my hand at clay sculpting. Initially I just tried to create the features of the face, but today, I moved on to using water-based clay (which I find much easier to work with) and I made my first bust:

I still have a lot of work left to get my clay sculpting skills up to my zbrush skills, but I’m really happy with how things have been going thus far. Maybe tonight I’ll do some 3d work.

There’s a Freedom of Teach DVD on the human skull that you would find immensely beneficial based on the number of busts you do. Some good work in here, check out that DVD if you’re up for it- it’s a practical sculpting workshop, but the technique you gain from it can be used for drawing, sculpting, whatever.

But they don’t price them cheap, do they? ~$17 per hour of instruction. Still, it might be worth it. I signed up for a 7 day seminar on human anatomy taught by Marshall Vandruff (if anyone here is familiar) so that should help me boost my skills.
