twf152_ Alien VS Predator WIPs

It’s been a little while, but I’m back…

This time with the armor. It’s only been roughed in. The only things I’ve added detail to, so far, was the codpiece and a bit of the belt. The way I’m approaching the armor for this guy, is thinking that he will have his left side all covered for blocking, but the right side will have practically nothing.

Everything was sculpted from polysphere primatives.

I also included a shot showing the new musculature for the upper arm, and one that’s a comparison of the new proportions for the hands and head.

Hi man,

did these real quick, since I really dig your character.
Can do more if you would like them.

looks good! but the hands seem to be a little too small

looks epic! the little suggestion is to make his hands a little bigger. right now they’re seems a bit small.

oh yes, and IF you gonna upscale hands, dont forget about feet!

regards

Absolutely excellent work here, my only critique would be that it needs to be more muscular, and generally larger in the chest.

Hey guys thanks for all the comments.

I tried to fix the legs and arms to the best of my understanding. I also increased the size of the hands a bit (though it probably wont be noticeable without the body there).

Here are turnarounds of both the arm and leg. If you guys could point out any more mistakes (preferably by drawing on the renders like koyima did) I would appreciate it.

Am I the only one who is a little weirded out by this thread… we’re circling muscles, HUMAN muscles, on a Predator, and saying it’s “wrong” because it doesn’t match human anatomy PERFECTLY… if anything, this would make it closer to the reality of their universe. The fact that the Predator’s musculature appears to be identical to human musculature is really just a plot hole that came from the budget constrains of the original film.

When you think about how inconceivable it is that two species that evolved on different planets, and already exhibit WILDLY different physiology above the neck would just happen to share exactly the same muscle groups–the only answer is that they don’t, they just portrayed them that way because it was cheaper to put a human in a suit.

Don’t get me wrong, I respect the pursuit for anatomical accuracy with human models–but for something like a predator, this seems misplaced.

Looks pretty cool man. I think u should bulk up the hands and wrists though. They look kinda small…especially the hands.

This is really good work, but the hands are too small in proportion to the rest of the body, the feel also. Predator is 7 to 8 feet, very tall! Try looking at Basketball players, save their images as ref.
 Good luck.

Gotta agree with AndrewJarvis here. It’s a humanoid, not a human. The muscles seem fine to me. Most of them are probably gonna be covered by armor, clothing and decoration anyway… not to mention the fishnet
Either way the end result is gonna be great, I can tell.

Although… hundreds of thousands of years ago predators did visit earth. Who’s to say they dont share an even further history, or perhaps even… source? ooOOooh…

AndrewJarvis: It’s true that their anatomy wouldn’t be exactly the same, but it would probably be very similar, since they have the same number of limbs, functioning in the same way, and with roughly the same proportions. If anything, I would like to get the muscles to match human anatomy, just so I can do it right the next time I make a human char.

Godfishb16: Gosh darn hands! :confused:small_orange_diamond:angry:small_orange_diamond:cry:small_orange_diamond:o I keep adjusting their size, but they sill look too small?

…OK. I’ll keep trying.

AjdinBarucija: Do 7-8’ tall people look different when their not standing next to short people?
Basket ball players are usually a bit lanky, because they are built more for agility than strength, but predators have a lot of muscle mass. In all of the movies they really aren’t noticeably taller, until you see them towering over the other actors.

Ah Ha! That explains everything!

great going man… i just saw the whole thread and its really interesting to see the way you progressed… please keep it up!
good stuff indeed!

shoaib: Thanks a lot man.Glad I could peak your interest.

I was getting a little bored with my other guy so I thought I’d try something a little different for a second, and make a female predator.

I took the same sculpt for the male and just tweaked it into a female. I tried to make her pretty, or as pretty as you can make something that has a lobster for a face, and I think she came out pretty decent.

I’m not exactly sure what she is supposed to be doing in this pose. The whole thing was kind of just thrown together.
I guess she’s standing on the corpse of a fallen foe… while reciting the pledge of allegiance.

This is my first attempt at making a female character, so please be gentle.

she is so hot! If I were predator I would start reproduction proccess with her immediately!

:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Awesome!!The female predator looks hot beside the head and scary foot:laughing:
Really cool stuff around here:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

FREAKING GENIUS!! I’d love to see some more texturing details done to her arms, shoulders and thighs, like the little bumps and leathery parts of the male one. Keep going! :+1:

lol, i did’nt know they have females too (how could they reproduce then?)

That’s about as “dead sexy” as I expect any predator could hope to be. Nice work on a first female attempt. I still haven’t felt confident enough to post any of the misshapen and malformed women my attempts have produced…keep up the great work.
