nice work so far. i just wanted to say real quick for your shied ya might wanna take a smoothing brush and soften the detail on the leaf design a little. seems to look a little rough. the dam standard brush with a setting of 15 on the lazymouse might help cure your squiglies. cheers:D

Hello. I feel that your work is moving along, your work is paying off. The length of the shins on your bipeds is off, the arms are good, nice hands, short shins. I noticed this on the female biped as well. If you lengthen them you might need to increase the scale of the feet, which are in proportion with the shins now. Your faces are progressing well, the fold of skin between the eyebrows should crease more towards one of the brows. I have a small mirror next to my comp for reference when I lipsync and sculpt. Overall well done, keep going.
Thanks man…i really want to get this model done too… and move on to the next one… between having a day job, writing a novel, and keep my skills up…the encouragement is fantastic. I think i agree with you on the shins…i could probably just move them down just a teeny bit…i do have an small edge hidden under the boot :)…
And here is a quick update on the “Riot Shield”…had a hell of a time trying to get the cracks on there… had to watch 300 just for inspiration. I plan on having scratches, dirt and blood on the shield… it will probably look huge on Karrennen but is a supernatural character…i am sure he can handle it…

You could cheat the males shins by moving the armor cup on his knees up his thigh some. That’ll even the proportions I think.
I can def try that… the knee cup is part of his greaves though…so I can nudge up the greaves a bit…
Good morning from boston, just a quick update on the weapon…started on the sword (which still needs work, it feels lacking). I think the sword has an Arabian Night feel to it, but i will need to do more work on it… it will have an aged feel to it…
Stay tuned, going to start the Low res version and uv mapping… let me know what you think…

Hey everyone, this thread was getting dusty so I decided to share a new sculpt that i’ve been milling about with. This character is from a game that i hold very near and dear to me, and he is a recreation of the 2d sprite. My goal is to get the model to be anatomically correct as possible (and need to shake off the rust). This is only the sculpt mesh that will be retopologised and set inside of unity3d as an in-game model.
The story about this gladiator, is that his people of Atlantis were fish creatures and he was their champion, until a rigged duel with the Greeks cost him his life, and forced his people underwater forever.
I have no set triangle count, but i would love your feedback and advice to improve this model (not quite happy with it yet), the muscles and face need a lot of love and refinement here (I ran out of polygons and can’t get the model any higher resolution) Working on the legs now…

Good morning from boston, just stopping by to share updates on the body… i am still trying to iron out some details on the muscles before I start on the body accessories and retopology… still trying to tone down some of the musculature.
I feel the legs and arm need some serious attention right now…having a tough time getting the form down the way it is supposed to be… C&C welcome… stay tuned.

Hey everyone, just posting some angles on this guy…starting to love how it is coming together… I think the calves from the top image needs more volume and the forearms need to be remade a bit to flow with the muscles. Also the face will need more attention since i need to figure out how to get more detail into it since i can’t subdivide any further (unless i split the head from the body). My friend said it reminded him of a Julius Caesar.
I may change the nose so it is more fish like, but in the original game of eternal champions, his face looks more human. But i’ll play with it. Feedback is definitely welcome… working on the armour now.

Good evening everyone, just passing through with an update on this character model… since I haven’t gotten much feedback on this I am still working on the clothes and getting the anatomy correct on this before moving on to retopology.
The armour is still be worked on to get a nice silhouette and trying to get more details into the outfit… thinking of looking for some Greek symbols to adorn the outfit… On the right arm is going to be a cloth like material that will add some asymmetrical detail and add some mystery to him.
On the body, I decided to raise the traps to give him an heroic quality, although he is still a bad mother****er in a fight. I hope to get some feedback, for I think I may be doing something wrong.

But you really need to look at the silhouette of the legs from the side, and also the back of the arms, needs more work.

Okay, here’s a quick one:
You should also lean him a bit more forward, I drawn a red line in the fronview to show how far the head should be moved, and the blue lines in that area shows how to compensate for it.
And the feet should be moved back a bit so the legs have more of a backward angle.
I know a lot of stuff just may be personal design choices since this is a fantasy character, but if his musculature should be even, then the latissimus dorsi muscles needs to be wider.
And don’t forget to use a lot of reference!

This is a good paint over…and I think having him lean forward slightly will add to his strength and power… now I am going to feel kinda sad cutting off his right hand to add the weapon…

Good morning from boston…just passing thru with a render of the head… trying to see if I could make it scarier… this is a character that i would want to make his opponent piss his pants.
Sorry about the artifacting, but i ran out of polygons and can’t go any higher until I retopologise the model. If anything I would love your ideas to make this guy’s face scarier…i am thinking making the chin a bit longer… he is starting to look very greek…as far as facial structure is concerned…

Hey everyone, finally found some time to work on my model… i have just about finished with the armour… I am thinking of adding a few more elements like a hanging apron in front of him… and just layering on damage… the vest still needs some attention, and I will add the teeth and tongue to add to the fear of this character.
and i need to go back to the body so i can strengthen up the muscle definition, and prepare the retopology… I would love your feedback
