The Sin Eater (WIP)

He’s the head of the lighting forum over at Cgtalk too. I think he works at Pixar.

Hi everyone

Been awhile since I posted any updates. I havn’t given up!

Art4Med: Thanks for your comments, and your valid tips .sorry It’s taken me awhile to reply.

Ok I gave up on the lighting and started a new background concept, I have two other ideas in the pipeline. been scratching my head for set Ideas, what I origanly had in mind wasn’t working and I’m not happy with the previous background. So I’m gonna post a few run ups over the next few days.

So here is the first, will be changing the floor for water if I can get it to look right. Jantims textures used for most of it, for now anyway. Comments and Crits please
[set2.jpg]
Thanks

GREAT background… has a look of Blade Runner or something similar.

Even better if water and space-trash replace the floor.

Panstar–

I meant to add that the creature looks great!

one comment on the face-- great texture on the teeth…
still
Maybe the tooth occlusion (how they meet together) makes it look like he’s “grinning” rather than “threatening.” If the lower ones were moved back an inch (upper teeth usu fit over lowers), it’d look more like he’s breathing and anything-but-grinning…
-perhaps a bit of pink inflammation at the staple sites?
-Also, the current eye looks a bit ‘dry’, how about makin it more wet?

Hi all

Sorry for the non activity here, I’ve been ofline for 2 weeks due to upgrading from ISDN to Broadband, And BT Canceling my order with Demon. Hmmmm!

Anyway will be posting work soon.

Hi Everyone

well now that my net connection seems to be working in order I can get back to flow.

Elixir / Art4med Thanks for your comments, and suggestions.

Art4Med: I will put your tip to use, on his teeth. But the grin I’d like to keep, maybe make it more sinister in apearance.

Well over the past couple of weeks, I kinda put this one on the shelf forthe time being as I was stuggling with the background, just not happy with any of the settings I camer up with. So I thought, put it a side. and Luxuria and Pride where knocking at the door to get out. So I started modeling the heads and Luxuria, just came together so I am almost ready to post the first full rendered illustration.

The concept behind pride is to have her sitting in front of a vanity desk, head skinned and face stretched out on a frame protruding from head.Which I’m currently modeling at the moment. i’ll post WIPs soon to give a better idea. I have concept sketches but they are poor efferts.

Well here the two head renders C&C’s please, P.S I’ve had to model a lot of these without refs, being unable to get online. and I know more detail is required.

Thanks

OK, sure, why not have horizontal working to the jaws?!
Truly creepy! Esp if you make her one of the prettier of her species…
Or is that a…um…er, a bearded clam?

On Superbia, you might better unlink the muscles from below the eye to corner of chin— in humans, these both sets go into the orbicularis around mouth. But, since I don’t know her lineage, they could already be correct!!!

Hi all

Thanks for the feed Art4Med. I have taken you point on Suspiria, will post results soon. As for the the bearded clam I assume yuo mean the mouth, well erm initially i was going for a kinda Predator typr mouth, but as it developed the shape became obvious.I was going to radiclly change it but thought, that well she is to represent Lust. Oh humm, what the subconsiouse lets out !

well I’ve been busy working away in me spare time. added texture t othe head and playing around with costumes.

Oooh toothy McGina-Mouth. Love skinned heads for some morbid reason.

…number 2, 4, 5 are “broken”

You underground view is very “dynamic” , but seems there is problem of texture of the floor

Your personnages are some disturbing but seem have a good sub anatomy
Have happy Zbrushing

Man, how did you get such finely a detailed zip and belt straps on the Bodice type thing? Did you use an alpha mask? Or was it done outside of Zbrush?

Nice work by the way

HI all thanks for your comments.

I meant to have posted these as well last night. But ran out of time before “Lost” started.

just some details of face texturing,

Frenchy Pilou: Thanks for tipping me off on the broken links, don’t know how or when that happend as they where working.

You underground view is very “dynamic” , but seems there is problem of texture of the floor
Thanks! and yes your right the floor does need fixing, and I intend to use this set but not for what i intended as other ideas sprang out from it.

Angelstein : Hi and thanks for you kind words, the corset was modeled from a cylinder tool and and alpha map for the zipper (See attachment)

The belts where modeled seperatly using rectangle tool the belt straps, zspherer setup for the buckle, and torus tool for the belt loop. used marker master for joining them all together with a low polymesh. I just now need to group them together with the corset. Hope this helps

Art4med: I’ve posted Superbia head (update) still needs a lot of work and smoothing off, especially the eye/cheek muscles. what do you think so far.

Ok and for the detail posts, I’ve kept texture to a minimum as i want here to have a nice smooth complexion, and I’m resisting temptation to tuen her to a wrinkly old hag face.

Truly amazin–!!!
You have made a new species, so you might think about how a creature opens/closes such a mouth, etc.
IOW, there must be another bone arch on the skull to attach these muscles.
In reality (embryologically-speaking), its the muscle attachments that make these arches stengthen— like the zygoma [cheekbone].

I would think it would be interesting to make such a mouth roll as it closes, thus tearing (meat) incrementally.

Thanks, Art4Med your tips are very usefull. I have been thinking on the mechanichs of the jaw, for this and how bone muscle struct may sit. I imagined that maybe the cheek bones to be a preying mantids forlegs. if that makes a ny sence. but yes some setup that would allow the jaws to grind and rip than chew.

i’ll work on some ideas, do a bit research on some non human mouthparts.

thanks for thew feed it really helps

I once considered doing a series of these things [Possible Anatomies], since I have a deep and wide anatomy background (medical school), but ?
wonder if this info is of ANY use to character designers.

I mean, perhaps I have info unavailable from the self-taught or volunteer anatomy-trainers—= does the CG community even give a [&#%!] about this? Dunno, but mebbe this should be eval’d.

Art4Med: I think your knowledge, on the anatomy would be a great advantage to any artist. Certainly with myself i’m not scared to admit, that when it comes to me with anatomy. It’s trial and error, there is only so much information you can collect from reference images.

So if you do, do a series on it let me know. I’m interested:+1::wink:

HI Everyone,

Well I’ve had to fit working on this in me spare time, hence the delay in posting. Still got a lot to do, like the leg straps. Rought example posted. The chair I have cables in mind to be trailing out. Building it all up. Comments and Crits Welcome ThanXs
