looks already very realistic .I like the non symmtrical modeling.
will be very cool with textures on

This is a real nice sculpt! Is this just a study or are you planning to take this character further possibly with pixol painting?

No, It isn’t a study It will be a full character with textures for a production.

Hi again

Here is a little armour tuning  I will continue the work with his arms.

Looking very good so far. This has potential to be top row quality, looking forward to future updates.

Well who ever this is being made for they should be pleased. Did you use a reference for the face?

I offten use references when I work on a face. Sometimes I collect few photos or photos of sculptures and try to select the best eyes, nose or ears and I mix them on my work.

Now here are his arms… (I think I have to buy a stronger PC… )

I’ve enjoyed you development of this character  . Your fine detail is wonderful (your knot and twine textures are great and your buckles look very convincing) The hammered look to the armor looks right to me as well. At this stage of your render its a little hard to tell if that is a very fine chain mail or a very course fabric under the plate mail. I’m guessing that it is chain mail?

All in all:+1:

Thx your coment hyper1!

I thought a kind of coarse fabric is suitable under his plate. I’ve seen a lot of photos and references and I realised that they didn’t wear chain mail under the armor.

great work. it looking real. I will try to learn from you work. :sunglasses: :+1:

Your proportions for the character look correct. Are you just eyeballing that or are you overlaying your characters build on a backdrop figure? The reason I’m asking is there was this guy in college that worked in ink. He’d start in the top left corner of his paper and do his drawing to the bottom right corner. His proportions on his figures was perfect. Used to drive me crazy… .

When I make a human character I always use my old anatomical correct human body mesh. I think this way is faster than use draws or concepts because the mesh also a 3D object and very easy to modell cloths on it.

I’ve just made some new renders…

Just a finished shader on his helmet. I will use it on the other parts.

This project is going well. Do you have any plans for your character? Using a your base mesh for the clothes makes perfect sense! Are you final renders going to be in ZBrush or another App?

Exceptional work!:+1:

This is looking pretty cool man. the armour is looking really nice and those last renders are great. The only critique is that the forearms look a tad small. Keep up the good work.
