The human anatomy and 11 systems of the body

Wow! This is intense! Love it. Top row! :grimacing:

this is great work. the skull very nice. :+1:  :+1:

Very nice work!

I too have been working on the Morris Human Skull.

I had to have a play with some materials and lighting, as I need to print this out so my tutor can monitor my progress. C&C welcome. Thanks for you comments.

Arran,

Your doing a great job! I’ve been doing a similar thing because I’m developing a set of characters. I’ve taken the easy road, I’ve purchased anatomy books! Your work on this project will make you a better sculpter of the human body, and other characters as well, because you’ll have a great understanding of the relationship of the bones and tissues to one another. So, even doing other animals/creatures you’ll know this muscle has to be attached to this bone, etc.

Did I understand you correctly that your going to do all of the body systems, because blood and nerves will drive you crazy  ? Maybe we should grant you an honorary doctor degree if you finish!

Holy cow dude! This is insane. All zspheres! Looks amazing. Well done 5* from me.

I’m enjoying your thread. Excellent skull study. Skeleton all made from Zspheres? ā€œFascinatingā€ as Mr Spock would say.

This is a great thread! And I applaude you for working strictly in Zbrush.
I would love to know how you did the skull.

The detail on the teeth and structure are very well done! Perhaps some screenshots of what you did and or short video?

Thanks for posting!

In order to make the teeth, i used masking with a simple alpha to draw the teeth inplace and then when right, i inverted maska nd used inflate to lift them out. Then i smoothed them around the edges and then zoomed in and added axtra detail/shape to them, and used the move tool instead of draw to pull the edges of each tooth and also for the point of attachemnet to the skull.

WOW! Great work.

excellent!!!

when you finish it you should setup a scene of these guys recreating the skeleton warriors in ā€˜jason and the argonauts’

Wow! Hats off…

I have spent quite a few hours on the vertabrae, and well still quite a lot to do. I am working at preview level 2, but for this i made an adaptive skin and divided it twice to see how it looked. If i move to preview 3 then the mesh looses its symetry and so I will work the whole skeleton at 2 and then when as much is done as possible at that rez, well then will adaptive skin the model to finish up, but anyway this is far from finished, maybe another eight hours or so on the vertabrae.

Arran, you are an inspiration… beautiful work my friend. :+1:

GREAT ZSPHERE WORK On the skull!!! :grimacing:

really amazing work!!

Great work so far. I have a critique on head to body proportion- the head looks a little small in comparison to the ribcage. From the chin to the end of pelvis a tall person would be about 3 heads in length… a normal or shorter person would be even less. Your model appears about 4 heads. Otherwise- great job.

Your materials are looking great! I don’t know if you’ve made your own or are using some of the excellent bone materials that have been developed on this site. I own a few real skulls I use for reference. The only error I see on your model is the teeth. Even in real ancient skulls the teeth’s enamel is whiter and brighter than the other skeletal parts. For example the ivory of walrus, elephants is much different than their bones. Here’s an example I found on the web.

Don’t stop on this project! Its offering inspiration to lots of people. On an outside note there are two fine free modeling tools. First and foremost is Blender.

It is a really fine program, but it has an unusual interface, but there is an excellent manual and countless tutorials to help you learn. The other is Wings3D.

These tools might really be of help to you for making base meshes with exact polygon specs. However, I’m really glad to see you doing everything you can from ZSpheres. Even though they are not exact they sure are fast  . They can get you up and running with an idea quicker than any other method.Crocodian Skull.jpg

Was worried when I read your first message, your intentions that is, but when I scrolled down throught the page I saw you have this well under control. Really excellent.
