great modeling. render and textures are so fantastic. congrats
Awesome work. Really nice job on the textures. Nice pose also.
OMG! Perfect!!! How u making of Hair? whats render?
Jesus man. I’ve had this image up for quite some time now! Its frickin’ rad.
I know its lame to ask about programs, material, and lighting and all that but if you have any tech tips on this guy its much appreciated. Like light setups. What program(s) you use. And perhaps material stuff if its pertinent. Thanks.
Can’t stand the pose, but this is a damn great piece as far as quality goes =D
There is always someone that shows there is still something to learn… Great work!
Yes the materials and rendering in this image are really excellent, I’m adding it to my list of technique benchmarks
Thanks man! Appreciate it!
I always do some additional photoshop tweaks like colour correcting, brushing up on some things here and there. Of course you should always try and get the result you want at render, but I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t do post work. Not even when I was working on motion pictures was the renders used exactly as they were rendered.
Hope that answers your question.
Cheers!
I used Maya fur for hair.
No, it’s not lame at all. As long as you don’t call me up in the middle of the night asking questions it’s fine.
I used a simple two area light setup with IBL lighting and reflection in Maya with Mental Ray. One light fairly close pointing straight on the face and large light on his right side giving a rim light. Materials were done using and tweaking MR-shader mia_material_x.
Easiest way to get good lighting is to read up on how light works. In this case I used more of a studio lighting setup because that’s what I was after. Make sure your working in proper measurments and scale because that is important if you want the lighting to work properly.
Awesome!
I really love the light You could post how Did you make it ?
Thanks and Great Job small_orange_diamond

Simply inspiring. I really hope one day I’ll be half as good as you Any tip how a beginner can improve his skill? I know I have to keep sculpting, is there anything else I should be aware of or think about while I do?
Absolutely fantastic work!!!WOW!!
awesome design ! well done. Did you render this out in Maya? or is this a BPR?
