Since I wanted to create the turtle neck without using a massive amount of textures, I chose a texture that I could tile, use as a spec, diffuse, bump and displacement. That meant I had to do a very strict UV-mapping. UV Master in Zbrush is great, but I had to control each individual vertex so I created the base and tube like mesh in Maya and UV-mapped it in Maya as well. I then sculpted and moved around parts in Zbrush.
Most of the textures are from cgtextures.com and some of them are hand made. The leather texture is a combination of a hand made texture and a texture from cgtextures.

The hair is done using a few different techniques. I’ll see if I can find some more old stuff to post.

I used MR misss_fast_skin_maya shader with a subdermal, epidermal, diffuse texture and mia_material_x for the specular along with a specular map.
No, so I can’t take credit for that unfortunately. I started working on my design before the first photo from Captain America was released, so any similarity is purely accidental. I did however work at Framestore during the production of that movie but Framestore mostly worked on Red Skull. I worked at Framestore’s Art Department but I wasn’t part of that show though.
