The Flash Noir

Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t have time for a complete making of the lighting, but I gave rv_el a short description on page 8 about my lighting process.

Well, you kinda nailed it with the keep sculpting bit. But a good way to practice is to try and copy other sculptures, images etc. Why things look a certain way, what techniques you might need to achive a certain look etc… Do that and you’ll learn a lot!

Cheers! The final render is rendered with Mental Ray in Maya.

Absolutely love the design mate. Truly great work.

Really great piece Chris

(i posted on this a few weeks back and totally missed your first post :-()

nice material work.

really good action on the leather ( texture and execution wise)

very well rounded overall.

the leatherwork on the clothing is especially realistic.

Awesome~~~

Wow perfect work

I love it . . . Outstanding . . . 5 Stars (or more if that’s allowed)!!!

hey great work, please share how you start modeling each props? How you research about every small stuffs before doing it in 3D?

Thx for sharing.
Wich I had more time to use Zbrush.

Fortsätt, gör mer! Men jag antar att med din tallang så jobbar du med det på full tid

Chris, it’s been a month man! You’ve gotta throw the dog another bone! Anything!

Great to see that people still post in this thread. Feels awsome! Thanks everyone!

Thanks!
How I start depends on what object I’m creating. If it’s a small and simple buckle on the arms for example I might create it in Maya with a simple UV and just divide it in Zbrush. I have to prioritize which objects can simply be divided when rendering and which object is worth giving a displacement map. Also I use Dynamesh quite heavily now as a base mesh. Depending on what job I’m doing I’m might simply stick with the mesh generated with Dynamesh, but with levels and then I texture that. But like with this piece Dynamesh didn’t exist at the time when I started it so it was all done with base mesh with proper topology.
For research I just go nuts on google. Of course I get some ideas from real life but in 90% of the time I use ref images for different pieces. I never copy anything straight off unless if that’s what I need to do.

You never really just have time for anything. You have to make time!

Jag har massor av andra jobb jag påbörjat men aldrig riktigt hinner slutföra. Jo jag sitter med Zbrush på heltid faktiskt vilket jag är glad och tacksam för.

Oh how time flies… Do you want more stuff from The Flash or more of anything else? I’m so bussy with work now that I don’t really have time for anything else I’m afraid. I’m hoping to get some spare time pretty soon but you never know what that time might turn into.

Chris, you do know I was kidding, I hope. If you have time just post anything you can.

Great work man! I really love the design of it, and the quality of it looks to be top notch :+1:
