the Dork

Hey, long time since I posted.
Here is a Whacked out head I did over the past two nights.
The pore texture was purposely over-done because I was having some trouble getting the same results with my bump and displacement maps with XSI as I was getting in Zbrush,( I figure it would be easy-er to see a change). After playing around with all the displacement and bump settings I was able to get pretty close.

now I have to learn how to light and render properly!!
C&Cs Welcome. PATTON

PS. I know his shirt look as if it was made of cookie dough!

5 stars

Hi Patton, how are you friend:

I think your image is so good but needs a little tweaks in postpro, i see the image too saturated

I was playing and this is my suggestion

Thanks guys
ilusiondigital You are absolutly right , I did not calibrate my monitor,I keep getting vastly different shifts in color and saturation when I change computers.
If any one knows a good method for For calibrating let me know.
Thanks. PATTON

Great! LOL. WHERE IS THE POCKET PROTECTOR???

Great job pushing the dorklike features. Seriously, I totally want to give this guy a CG wedgie!!!

Hey, nice dork you’ve got there.

That second image looks a bit too desaturated to me. Somewhere in between the two would be nice. Color on the shirt in the first image is fine.

Lemonado, there’s a big difference between a dork and a nerd! A dork wouldn’t know what a pocket protector is…
This guy does look like he should be hanging on the bathroom wall by his underwear, though.

great, is he beginnig to swallow a billiard ball? really good job

I’m diggin’ the eyebrows and the overall color map of the face… looks like a redneck-dork about to throw rocks at Forrest Gump. Can’t wait to see where you take this Patton and good decision on “over-doing” the pores because it adds history and depth to this character especially in the style that you implemented. This is some glorious work!

I want to see your interpretation of a “nerd”.

I don;t know but on all four LCD’s I own yours looks a tad to vivid but Ilusiondigital’s looks extremely the other way. The perfect setting seems to be in between… Where I LOVE the cartoony intensity of the original. But then again… I love vivid colors…

PS:Did you see that Patton?

Lot’s wrong with it… but I only worked on the lower part…

COugh cough… excuses excuses… lol

Great character - made me laugh out loud - we’ve all met him which is what makes the image so great.

Took the oppurtunity to look at other fantastic pieces in your gallery - this ranks up there with you fabulous batman character.

Nice to see humerous work done with style - keep it up.

Here is a version with glasses ,tape and a quick hairdo!

I intend to redo the hair.
