The Dark Knight Triumphant

Really nicely done. Great shaders, modeling etc.

I will suggest two small things to change though, just cause they stood out to me right away.

First though - I’ve noticed that sometimes people can get a little testy when critiques are offered on what is obviously an excellent piece of work, as this one is. I hope my suggestions will be taken in a spirit of helpfulness. I offer them because I think they really would polish the image off and do full justice to all the terrific work that’s been done on it.

1st: A very small point. Personally I think it would look better if the ray-cast shadow edges on the floor were softened up just a touch. And I think I agree with post #1 about the lighting.

2nd: The muscles in the forearm look wrong to me. I realize that the musculature is stylized but right now it looks as though the forearms were sculpted in a different position and then simply rotated into there current one, and I think the changes I have in mind would improve on this in a stylistically consistent way. Pulling out the anatomy book for clarification in case you want to look it up - I definitely don’t have these names memorized -the Brachioradialis and Ext. carpi radialis longus don’t seem to be emphasized enough, especially relative to the Flex. carpi radialis.

Here’s a draw over to show what I mean, and congrats on the top row.BatmanImgForearmSuggestion.jpg

Congrats on this fine piece of work. You are a master of cloth! May I please have a tid bit of your wisdom!!

hey dis is work i really like. :+1: :+1:

My goodness, that’s staggering!

Francis: Thx for the crits… you sound like someone who knows what the term constructive criticism means.
The same problem with the arms caught my eye post “posting”. And have been working on that for the turnaround. It was a transpose master issue. I did in fact model it in a neutral pose and then moved it into the posed state.
(btw it was nice of you to take the time and do a draw over. Helps a bunch)
Hopefully I will have a revise in the next day or two. (My rendering set up kind of sucked for time duration.)

spaceboy412, Francis: The lighting I believe is subjective though. Personally, I did play with the coolness of the image in PS prior to submitting and found it too cold. I personally like the warmth, like he was coming into the light. And others I’m sure share your opinion.

ronybuster: thx and its just a blinn with spec, diffuse, and normals map. The diffuse texture was hand painted (with some “dirt” and bruises via google).

Nemoid: yeah it could look neat as well, but did have a great reference to work from for the colors.

adio38: sorry, I did make a base mesh in max first in a T-pose. He was posed in zbrush.

Thx again to everyone…

Jempix. Thanks - I do generally try to keep my comments constructive. It’s nice to know it’s appreciated.

Granted about the subjectiveness of the lighting. It certainly looks good the way it is.

Great work again,

Cheers

echo - great job man - creases look very natural
and I dig the palette, thanks for sharing :+1: 5*

Balls nasty…

I wanted to say this piece is awesome, I recently got zbrush and I have started learning to import models to create my own works so I hope to showcase them to people. But man this tool I had no idea how powerful it is.

I wonder when using this to either 3dsmax or Vue which is better because I done it with Vue and it was awesome!!

Hi everyone,
I listened to a few suggestions about minor tweaks, and finally did something about it.

SlayerX: I don’t have any experience with vue, but I’d say whatever works best for you is the one to use :wink:TDK_revise1200.jpg

Looks sweeeeet !!! …
The new tweaks makes the forearm read correctly :+1:

Lookin good jempix

Great sculpt and gesture.

wow! very nice…

Great, GREAT work. I love his expression and cloth on this model.

Congrats on toprow,

:grimacing:Badass!!

Amazing piece! The facial details are especially wonderful.:+1: :+1:

that’s not batman… that’s wolverine in disguise!!

nah… just kidding… i love it…

Kind of a last second costume design if you ask me lol. I really like how the cloth material is sculpted however.

Fantastic Modeling. I would love to see the base mesh!
