The CHEAT SHEET for compositing

Hey guys! I’m super excited to share this with all of you… THE CHEAT SHEET FOR COMPOSITING

I’ve put together a quick cheat sheet with my 7 steps to turn you ZBrush render passes into a great looking image using photoshop for compositing. The steps are very easy to follow and the technique can be applied to any type of work (not just characters)!

With the download of the Cheat Sheet (PDF), you also get the layered PSD file and all the high-res render passes I use for my Leucotom Cavalier creature!

Here is the link to get the Cheat Sheet

By the way, If you are already part of the ZBrush Guides newsletter, you should’ve got a direct link to get this, so if you haven’t… maybe check the spam folder.

Enjoy!

Pleasure! I hope to see some images from you soon then! hehe

You will! I just uploaded one but as you can see my comp skills need some serious work, I literally have no idea what I’m doing with render passes etc.

But… At least your guide will give.me a good starting point.

Superb!!

Extra tip for step 1; BPR filters are a great way to line up several different materials with the “Material Shading” filter. You can simply toggle them on and off and they will override the entire render with the material set in its texture slot without having to redo the BPR render itself nor having to assign materials to models. They can also be set override color (and using white as the override will render your scene in the plain material itself, and full black can be used to create specular passes). Can be a time-saver in both rendering and not having to do any manual material picking (especially since you can save the whole lineup as a filter preset)

Hey Pablo, thanks for this - I’m fairly confident with my PS compositing but always check out others’ methods as it help to refine my own or even create another style.
My main reason for commenting here is to let you know that, although I am already a subscriber and did receive a link; that link was only for the BPR filter preset; no PDF.
I’ve downloaded it now (after numerous pauses to get the url; my pages on ZBC don’t have the top toolbar that includes a search; my search is further down the page and it provided zero hits to this page - only getting the actual url helped me to find my way here.
Perhaps write down the link in the You Tube description also; it would have saved me half an hour or so…
Despite all of my whining; I still really do appreciate what you do for the ZB community (and me!).
Cheers and all the best.
