Tarot Bird WIP

I aggree about the concept, I really love that kind of images, when you can look everywhere just to find something new that is linked to the whole part of the picture but still is independant enough to be on it’s own.

I’m still waiting for another update of that girl…

Cheers “ko’gen”.

My god! I thought you’d vanished!

Nice to see the whole concept! Really nice work!

I can see from your efforts prior, that this is going to be awsome!

How did the girl come out? Or is she not finished yet?

I took a break on the girl for now. I was waiting on some reference images. I think I’m going to do shoot with a different model so I can get it right. Mark had planned on giving me the reference images he used in the drawing but he just got in a car accident and is nursing some broken ribs and a collarbone so I don’t want to bug him too much. The female character is cool but the whole attraction for me in recreating this concept in 3d was this big sheep/goat/camel guy eating spaghetti. I figured I’d get more momentum on it by getting to the big payoff. I also didn’t feel that I was building the female model up to the standards of the rest of the piece so I figured I’ll revisit it after the main guy is done. I’ve nicknamed this guy zcamel.

Sorry to hear about the car accident. I hope he is ok!

It’s probably sound advice to move on if you feel uncomfortable with a model because you don’t have the right model reference. I’d volunteer to pose for you, but I think you might get psychologically damaged by it.

Anyhow, your work so far has been awsome, and I think from what I have seen of the goat/camel guy so far, this is going to be a very well made sculpt.

Good luck my friend.

Dusty

Hi,

I love your characters! :+1:

Where did you acquire the bronze material, if I may ask? Is there an add-on pack of Matcap materials somewhere?

I did a search and found the Matcap thread, but I didn’t know if that was the same material you used.

Edit: Never mind. I think I found it!

Just spending a couple of hours on a Saturday evening doing some sculpting. I bought a book on horses from the Barnes N’ Nobles bargain section, “Spirit of the Horse,” only $14.95. This character isn’t a horse but the book had some great reference and inspiration for musculature. I’ve changed the proportions of the face somewhat to what it was before, the biggest thing being the location of they eyes which I had previously made too large.

i like the concept and the sculpting you’ve done so far, great work, keep it up :+1:

this is looking awsome. He looks a bit like that white creature from Never Ending Story.

Real nice work, keep posting :+1:

The illustrations and 3d characters are really inspiring and have a wonderful style to them. Really looking forward to seeing more of these fantastic creations made by you and your friend!
Keep em coming please :sunglasses:

Your concept is really fantastic, and so is your sculpting. Looking forward to seeing this finished. Good work!

Wow ! Finally we can see the full concept, it’s lovely, its amazingly good, so creative!

It’s getting great, nice head start of this character. He looks a very nice and wise creature.
I can see your final artwork printed on a lot of books and showing at a lot of Forums and galleries. Its truly a very good piece of art.

Keep it up, still following up here

Best wishes and happy new year.

Nice update! By the way, does that Mark Nelson guy have a website? I would love to see more of his drawings! Keep up the good work!

I’ve spent some more time developing the fabric on his arms, and chest. The hands have got a little attention with the addition of finger nails. I’ve just started to rough in the robe below the waist, it still needs a lot of work, the folds aren’t falling naturally yet.

Also, Mark Nelson’s website is finally up so check out his work, its fantastic.
