Tarot Bird WIP

Hello everyone. I bought zbrush a few months ago and have just got serious about making some cool models. I was really inspired by the demonstrations Pixologic gave at Siggraph this year and I’ve had a great time with the clay tubes brush.

This model is based on a sketch by an artist friend of mine Mark Nelson. This model will go with several other characters that I’ll post soon.

The model was originally created from zspheres. The first post was the concept phase. This is the first step of reworking the model after a few topology tweaks.

I think is very interesting model David… go ahead and finish it! :+1:

I’ve refined the model a bit more. Added wrinkles. this is about 10-12 hours in. There are some problem areas around the cuffs that I plan on fixing.

Here is a frog character to go along with the bird. These guys will be part of a single composition. This model was made completely in zbrush. I made the base mesh out of zspheres and went from there.

This guy goes along with the others. I actually built a base mesh in 3ds max and then brought it into zbrush. I made this guy first. He was modeled in a relaxed pose and then transposed into position. I think he’s a prime candidate for retopolization. I plan on revisiting him.

Can anyone tell me how to post an image in the body of the post so it doesn’t appear as an attachment?

-NEVERMIND. I figured it out :)

David! Very cool Models…!!! So orginal! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:
Ciaooo!

I had some fun here with transpose and added some tarot cards for good measure. I love this bronze matcap.

Wow…What cool characters. more more…haha.

The Bronze Mat is an irresistible temptation

Thanks Brett Sinclair and Piz for the kind words.

Mark Nelson just gave me the go ahead to post the drawing he did. Right now I’m only going to post the portion I’ve worked on so far so you guys can get a feel. Mark Nelson has been a professional illustrator and professor for many years. He even spent 6 years working at Raven software as a concept artist and texture artist. As soon as he gets his website up I’ll post a link to it. For now enjoy the sketch.

The sculpting is fantastic! Looking forward to the final work.

I’ve done a little transposing on frogman here and built some supports

One step closer.

I just got this error when I tried to open my file.
INTERNAL ERROR .\Mash 3DDXF.cpp Line:11912

I sent an email to pixologic for support. Hopefully they will have an answer to me but it looks like I probably lost all the posing of the frog as well as the two branches I made for the frog.:frowning:

Looking awesome, Haupt-MAN! :sunglasses:

Cool critters! I like your whimsical style!.

Real nice!! Special the bird with the hat. Keep posting :+1:

I agree with Marsyas:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: and… 1/2
