Hı Tomas,
I am following your work like years from now. And your work’s are all perfect.
And thanks for sharing all the details.

I have 2 rapid prototype machines but i have lots of trouble with sending z-brush files to my machines… (they all take stl.)

I read about how u lower the polygons.I use rhino also but like a 1.5 millon
and above detail just wont open in rhino . If i can open maybe i can find a way to lower the polygons but it just wont

Can you help me about it since you know a lot about printing stuff from z-brush? I have decımation master(for z-brush)but its not enough still…

And if u want something printed i can help you, dont think about money

Nubar,
I wish I had the ability to work with rapid prototype machines as you do.
However I am still paying off some bills so I will have to wait.

As to your problem. I have looked into the CNC as well as the rapid prototype systems to see which ones diliver the best product and is the leas expensive.
I am not sure what applications you use but most are similar as the CNC language is pretty universal. In order to get the to get the object converted to the path that the machine needs to travel in you have to supply it a file it will accept. I know that STL is perfered and standard. There is a posibility that the your model file has some area in it that the tool cannot figure out the path. I would start out with simple geometry and then tweak it to create various paths that would be difficult and vary them to see what the tool’s limit is. You may have to manually edit the model file to get it to work as well. This will take a lot of time but will be worth it in the end as you figure out what the system can and cannot do. You may have done this already I will not know. Also the application that generates the STL file may be at fault. Without doing many tests and checking the model file by hand it will be difficult to tell. Some applications will have a way to debug problems. I am not sure what yours is but it may lead to some answers.

I will do what I can to help but without knowing what your using it will be hard to help.

Good luck and I hope maybe some of what I said will give you a spark as to what will help.

Stephen

Stephan first off all thank you very much for help.

But the problem is not i about a z-brushed model into my rapid prototypes. Its about opening large mb of detailed files in z brush ( Big Polygons).

I have Objet and Envision as machines but the porblem is not about the machines. Its about making 1.5 / 2 millon polygoned z-bursh data openable in machine(ıts not happening due to lage MB)

I tried useing decimation master, yeaa it works but not in 1.5/2 mil polys and i think Tomas has some experiance about this issue

Anyone have any experience with this machine viewed on youtube, looks good?

Ziggy

Sig They say that material is cast-able but its hard to cast. If you want something that is castable with great resolution look at the Solidscape 76p+
They just updated the software and its finally printing really detailed models and is cast-able. The down side is that the models are britle and you kind of need to run the machine constantly or you’ll start getting errors. I personally use a Minitech Pro 3 and love it. The wax is standard wax and I never have a problem casting it. Theres a small lerning curve but you should be up and running in no time.

Just see if undercuts are a big deal in your designs or not and that should help you make a decision.

Hex

Thanks Hex… I think I’ll stick to outsourcing for now, the creating is fun, leave the stress factor to others, will check out the Minitech Pro 3…

just want to throw in a ‘holy crap’. amazing work. i have been interested in rapid prototyping and jewelry making for a few years now, but life took me on a different path. im just now trying to get back on course, and finding this thread is like a kick in the ass to get me moving.

your work is a great inspiration, and your openness and willingness to help and answer questions is very refreshing. just want to say thanks and wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Hi Hex, the machine looks impressive, do you have any pictures to share of work you have done? You can mail these to my personal address or share it for all on this site…

Ziggy

wow I hadn’t realized I haven’t posted in so long.
sorry guys I wasn’t avoiding anyone I just got busy.

I’ll post some new pieces soon. looking forward to the new line of non skull pieces coming soon.

t

sounds great T! can’t wait to see what you have to share.

great work , i was wondering how you did the squid was it zspheres or that profile lofting in modo that you were talking about.
any chance you could elaberate on this work flow?
cheers

Hi tomas,
How u doing?

do you still working with Zbrush in jewelry cad/cam?

are able to convert Zbrsuh models to Nurbs Surfaces in Rhino or any other CAD softwares?

Do you know any other Cad software which able to convert Zbrush models to Nurbs Surfaces?

Thanks…

wow i forgot about this thread. your work is so good, and so in line with what i find visually appealing, i find myself with mouth agape, muttering obscenity whenever i look at it. cant wait to see some new stuff. :+1:

been forever …
been traveling and busy catching up.

here are some new pieces that aren’t skulls

I’ll post pics of the pieces after fabrication soon

Tomas, your work just makes me grin like an idiot. It is so iconic now. I saw the tumbnail and new it was yours. I love it. Cohen will love it.

I showed your thread to my sister a few months ago (she learns goldsmithing and silversmithing at school) and she always says that your work is fantastic.
I definitely agree.
