Hi Tomas,
your works are still wonderful…
Could you please tell me how do you convert the Zbrush files to Nurbs surface ?
do you prefer to work with Modo instead of Rhino or Matrix?
i`m waiting for your kind answer Tomas,
Thanks,

Thanks,
Most interesting, as usual.
just great, I love the intricacy of that ring design
Hi,
those last pieces are really very nice!
Especially the one piece is very inspiring to me.
Keep it up,J.
jmeyer,Intervain,hmphhh,Moni-Poroni - thanks for the kind words and positive feed back
carver- thanks and he damn well better or he gets a poke to the eye.
saeedm - I use modo for my block up, zbrush to sculpt. matrix to do my stone work sizing and sweeps. I use decimation master to reduce the pieces to import into matrix or 3d export to go to magics.
all of the programs have there uses and strengths.
if you need any other info feel free to contact me about it…

your very inspiring…
im new to zbrush and i just sculpted this skull and i was wondering how i would go about making the ring hole…? in zbrush or export it to another program.
im not sure if zbrush has the precision like rhino where you can make a 19mm radius circle, extrude it, then dif boolean. etc etc…
all the help is truly appreciated… ;]
I would export it as a STL and do the boolean in magics. or export it as an obj and boolean it in rhino.
I build my block up with a hole in it, in modo.
if that didn’t help feel free to keep asking until I do
t
really cool stuff - awesome actually :D
thank you very much,
there should be some new work soon
t
Great as usual… one day when I grow up, I also want to do work like this…
aaaahhhhh my friend have higher aspirations than that lol
t
Amazing…What 3dprint do you use for this high quality results?
Thx and congratulations…!
the last pieces were grown on a DWS or digital wax machine.
I can find out the exact model if you like but I think they paid in the $150,000 range for it and in turn the results.
t
hi T.S.,
when you build your block up and boolean out the ring hole in modo, do you do this at a low level geometry then import it into zbrush, then start dividing for more geometry??
im having a tough time importing my model into zbrush from rhino and being able to finish it do to this problem…
your help is very much appreciated.
Beautiful work, as always.
jmenna - thank you…
solidsilver - hmmm I don’t boolean in modo for the hole and I never wind up with that kind of seaming problems… did that come from Modo?
ok that sounded crappy thats not how I meant it…
I mean i have no idea how you got that geometry out of modo.
if that is from rhino you have to set the weld settings in the import sub-tab
I can show you what i do in modo if you like, there is no need to boolean.
but thats an import issue common in matrix/rhino
t
T.S.
thanks for the weld tip ! i will give that a shot.
if you could show me how you do it, that would be a huge help.
Basically i do everything in zbrush but when its time size the piece & cut the ring hole i use rhino, ( i dont have matrix ). but if i need to import back into zbrush for some more detail and adjustments i cant do to this current issue. :{
yes…
thats a hell of a transition rhino doesn’t make good geometry for zbrush.
all you do is instead of using the normal import button use the one in the tools menu and have weld turned on. give that a shot…
bu i would just suggest to use rhino last ;)]

I want to thank you for sharing this with us. I am now a member here thanks to you. Your work is incredible. I am truly inspired (if not a little envious of your design prowess…
I use Rhinoceros and Rhinogold for my CAD designs and I have a Roland MDX40 for my milling purposes. I was wondering if you would share this fact with me: is it possible to export the ZBrush files for suitable import into the Rhino environment? Or is it possible to directly import the ZBrush file into Rhino? I would like to start the long process of developing the skills necessary in ZBrush so as to incorporate the designs in my jewellery designing and production.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Paul

Great stuff.
I am curious if your mill can cut materials other than wax?
While there are many metal and wood mills on the market, they dont seem to have the fine level of detail that you are achieving here.
(I know you mentioned that you do some fine detail by hand).
Would the mill your using be able to cut hardwood, like boxwood, … with the same level of detail that you get with wax, on objects about the twice the size as you are making?
Thank you
Robert
