Great concept, sculpt and render! !
wow! I really like the last image! just perfect!
Amazing work perfectly embodies orignal concept
wow indeed, great work!!
Great sculpts… This last one is quite awesome…but I prefer the trool you posted earlier in this thread. He just rock.
It looks like you used “trapcode particular” (and very well, if you ask me) in the post processing of the shots… am I right ?
Have a nice day.

Awesome sculpts and render man. Wow!
hey stefano really great picture wow! … show more …
what kind of technique you have borrowed from david giraud …
can you say something more about it?
I’ve always like Adrian’s work back from his black and white images for the Warhammer books. I’ve been inspired by his work also. You definitely did his work justice. Good job Can’t wait to see your next work.
Fantastic job man.
Very nice Stefano! The armor detailing came out nicely and the render as well. What technique of Giraud’s were you referencing? He seems to use a very nice brush for creating lines similar to the Dam Standard brush, but it has more control on the peak and valley, like in this video of his throne sculpture - the organic lines that he carves in the gold section. Thanks so much!
Thanks guys!
jkemp: for the background I used just some sparkles footage, particular is a bit too tricky…
O/MI: thanks a lot! I recorded a timelapse while sculpting the helm: I duplicated the helm mesh, inflated it with a low negative value (like -2) and made it “emerge” where there were the gold parts.
jderiggi: thanks man! The video explains it all! I used the MAHcut mech brush to draw all the gold parts. It was lot of fun trying this technique, and really fast!
I should also credit Nick Zuccarello for the human basemesh under the armor: his free tool is really awesome!
I also took another render to show better the front of the helm, and a pair of full res details: I rendered it at 3k, and the render time was pretty good, about 70 minutes per render; this makes Zbrush a good choice even for print projects!

awesome work & great render
Turned out great!! Thanks for the kind words!
great technique on the filigree! thanks for sharing. awesome render as well.
Awesome as usual!!!
Thank you for posting the techinque you used for the helmet gold details! I never thought of duping a subtool and pulling it through like that. The majority of that kind of detailing I’ve seen has been done with zsketch on top of other subtools. I like your way better. It looks like it would work well for vines too.
Great detail, and the lighting and rendering is superb!
Old model, new render…
I made this last year, later I posed him for my reel… this weekend was rainy, so I polypainted it and took a pair of renders.
Hope you like it!
100% detail:
Very nice polypainting… and very nice render too. Me likes.
I really like the colors on the final render.
good job
