Not me. I’m not watching anymore sneak peeks.
'Tis entirely too stressful. I am a peaceful woman.
This icon is about to fall off the top row. Is that significant?
i AGREE i WILL NOT FOLLOW THEM THIS CLOSE EITHER…I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON

It’s not been all bad stress though.
Met new people, saw a lot of great work, and have been totally inspired.
I think I’ve done more w/ZBrush these last two months than I ever have.
@ thebest12: Not quite sure what you’re saying? That you’re upset with yourself for obseessing over ZB4r7 release?
It seemed like you’re saying we all should take a good look at ourselves about…??
So a company doesn’t meet is projected (not promised) release date and suddenly we all need a life lesson
and a reorganizing of our priorities?
Get a grip dude. Nobody owes us anything and were all responsible for our own feelings.
Release dates (at least in pixologic’s case) are targets, not promises. Or even if they are promises, in the grown up world sometimes things come up and we cant deliver on promises.
Just last week I promised to take my niece to the zoo but on the day a water main burst in the house and we couln’t go. She cried and screamed that I had promised we were going to go. I had to explain to her that something came up. Adult stuff.
ZB4r7 will be released when it’s ready. If you need to take an honest look at yourself and your expectations and feeling about not getting r7 when “promised” then kudos to you dude. But please do not be so pretentious as to imply we “ALL” need to.
It’s like the five stages of grief in here. Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance…It’s all here (Plus life advice).
Month’s not even over yet. Nothing’s been missed. IF (big if there) it gets released this month, then great, let’s party. If it gets released next month or the month after, we can party just as hard then. In the meantime, I plan on expanding my abilities with the version I have right now so I’m a better artist and my end users get the best work possible from me.

It’s like a micro-world, this thread is. We have the volatile people, the calm people, the wise people, the impatient people…every psyche is represented, I’ll bet.
We all react to anticipation in different ways.
No harm, no foul, whatever that means.
I am all good with whenever they release R7. Sure I am anticipating new functions but will never master the previous version before the next comes out anyway. R6 still kicks ass!!!
It surely does. It’s the only tool that’ll let me take something in my head, or that I see an image of, and bring it to life.
Not so good at doing that at the moment, but practicing is a lot of fun.
The only thing I miss in 4r6 is better retopo tools. And GoZ to Modo don’t work so well for me (I know I can edit the form editor, but I make a lovely mess when I fool with that), but there’s always obj export.
jan…31:D
jan19 - I use the GoZ Modo, sometimes its alot of work. I hope to incorporate more Keyshot once it is released and I can test it out as a Final Renderer for my sculpts. With the new Box Modelling tools in 4R7 I hope to leave Modo out of the equation. Like it for some things but would love to just be in ZBrush and Keyshot for my render. We will see, so…
…here is to next week? Pixolator will let us in on it if it becomes delayed again. No worries…can’t wait to give it a whirl.
Yeah Pixolator please tell us something next week

Oh, I know it’s me. I read on the Luxology/Modo forums that people use GoZ from ZB to Modo, without a problem. I’m just scared a little, of that Form Editor. Once I mess something up, it’s not so easy for me to straighten it out again. So I use obj export.
I’ve got mixed feelings about not using Modo. I wanted it for so long…loved it so much when I got it, and still love it. Undeniably though, it is more fun to draw/sculpt a model than it is to point by point.

people are going to be surprised that its just a modeling brush. modeling in other applications will still be needed… Pixologic never said that this will be a replacement for those apps, The measuring system and view ports and other apps are still well needed, and other retopo tools…
now hopefully I am wrong, but they will have to show us way more than they did
That’s pretty ok with me…that Modo won’t be replaced. Modo is a fantastic program.
I’m honestly hoping they honed and added to Zbrush’s sculpting tools, more than anything else. Really getting into my sculpting these days! One day I’ll get up the courage to post some work.
Any of you use Zbrush with Houdini? I am a 3D noob. But if I am going to learn. Procedural workflows seem to have an advantage over traditional.
Sorry if I sound stupid, but what is Houdini?
It sounds interesting.
I’ve used Houdini a few times and it’s an amazingly powerful program and often used in Films for its great particle & fluid dynamics systems. If your goal is to get a job in the industry though I would cut my teeth with Maya or 3DSMax as 80% of jobs are going to be looking for people skilled in those packages, especially when it comes to modeling & animation. Houdini, while definitely a comprehensive package, is used mostly for VFX and fluid dynamics like smoke/fire/clouds/liquids ect… BTW I pulled that 80% number out of my arse but definitely Maya and 3DS are the most commonly used
I´ve been waiting for a ZBrush to Keyshot plugin for about 2 years now, ever since Luxion first announced it on their forum. It becomes really frustrating and I already gave up hope one time when they said they won´t continue the plugin. Announcing a new version in SUMMER to be released during autumn, then letting winter almost pass by, talking about “by the end of the year” one time, then “January” the next with February just around the corner is just unprofessional and annoying. All the clowns on the forum making fun of it have run out of jokes and can´t make me laugh anymore. I just want this new release. That´s all. And why waste time developing and testing another 32 bit version anyway? Absolutely nobody really needs a 32 bit version or does Pixologic really think there are people in the 3D industry still using a Pentium with WinXP and 256MB Ram? Why not just focus on the 64 bit version we´ve all been waiting for anyway? Please keep up the good work but… speed it up!

Because the 64 bit version we get will be beta. It makes sense for us to have the finished 32 bit just in case the 64 beta is buggy.

I doubt the clowns will care much.
Bring on the clowns, we need more clowns.
