THAT BOX MODELING BRUSH WILL REPLACE SO MANY FEATURES THAT ARE COMPLICATED TO LEARN. i FEEL LIKE THE MODELING BRUSH IS THE BASICS OF ANY 3D PROGRAM. i HAVE ALWAYS FELT ZBRUSH NEEDED THIS FEATURE.

Guys - it is getting out of hand. What transformed this community into such a whiner club?
I freely admit to being a rank beginner compared to most people who have sketchbook threads. I’m currently reading, watching tutorials and practicing. If we waited until I had fully explored Zbrush and felt like I owned it we would never get it.
I’m a hobbyist not a professional like many who post here…
Its coming! I myself am just waiting for the Zmodeller due to the fact the other 3d programs I do my hard surface in are starting to bug me when I need to repeat so many tasks unlike R7 I could of done it with one. As for beta uses I know quiet a few people who have had it for a while for testing. So it will be coming Jan! Tomorrow, Today, Next week! Its COMING!
Treece Just watched PBR demo for 3D Coat
I kinda hope Pixologic will be addressing PBR at some point. Maybe not for 4R7 but I would hope so for ZB5. Staying in one package would be a dream. Appreciate this is not always possible depending on certain workflows.
Someone indicated that the Keyshot bundle is Pixo’s way of supplying us with an immediate PBR engine. 
Once that sunk into my thick skull, I got as excited about the Keyshot bridge as I am 4r7. I like PBR, also.

With my way of thinking, Pixo would not have specifically said “January” unless they thought there was a dead on possibility of 4r7 being ready in January. I’m holding onto that thought.
What would be really cool would be some sculpting aids. I don’t know if I even know what I’m talking about, but something to help me gauge eye depth, face proportions, etc. Like the markers on Ryan Kingslien’s skeleton that ships with Zbrush.
For those of us with no academic background in art (my area is history, of all things), those kinds of drawing/sculpting aids would be a genuine blessing!

Most of the people (that I know) who sculpt in Zbrush for relaxation have separate careers. We do this for fun
and to stretch our right brains. But sometimes people can be as passionate about a hobby as we are about a
career, if that makes sense.
Zbrush/3d modeling is something I do because I love it. Where I’m going with it…I do not know.

jan19 - I didn’t think Keyshot is PBR. .ie: I don’t believe it uses PBR textures. I need to have a play with Keyshot.
Thebest12 - I am a hobbyist and no I am not planning on making it into a career. I’ve always been fascinated with VFX since I was a kid and wanted to recreate. Yep influenced by the Starwars sagas and Ray Harryhausen. Would even go as far as the original Battlestar Galactica series, Buck Rogers, Movies - Starcrash and Battle Beyond the Stars (1970’s) - if anyone remembers those lol!! :lol: Actually, in reply to an early question of yours which kinda ties into this question, no I don’t post my art on here. As I am a hobbyist, I’ve never really felt the need too. But will do, if I ever get stuck or want the critique etc. But love coming on zbrushcentral and actually enjoy helping others try to better themselves with Zbrush. By the way Daniel, did you ever sort out that alpha brush turning? You never replied how you got on mate.

Yea they never said it was coming in Dec but only in Fall, they said its coming in Jan so I assume its coming this month. If they did say Dec people would be having a hissy fit over it already.

This is what they said “we’re planning a fall release.” does not say December. But the latest update says Jan also with the latest previews of R7 along with giving beta out with a NDA a few months back. The main problem is 64bit and so many issues with it as its brand new to zbrush I would not care if I only got 32bit R7 for now.
So its COMING! Pixologic is one of the best companies in the world!
