Fighting hippos for a new book. The format of the shot seems odd as there will be text at top left

Some new renders of my work for a new publication on Natural History.

The Tortoise is low res tests in keyshot and the Wart Hog was rendered by Andrew Kerr as I nearly smashed my Cintique trying to get zbrush fibers to work

great work as always:)

Astonishing work! Thank you for sharing this, I’ve got lots of nspiration from this thread!

Well deserved top row bud. Impressive work, always.

Fantastic stuff! Love the tortoise the most! Congrats on Top Row!

I feel like a kid again lost in the world of scientific illustration! These are wonderful, seamlessly integrated with abundant visual descriptions. I would love to see some early ā€œbehind the scenesā€ of how these started out in ZBrush.
It’s impossible for me to break down the fundamentals of how the models/images were formed. They are so fully realized. I guess I could go on all day.
A real pleasure to enjoy, learn from, and of course-- admire!

Congrats on top row!

Oh my word…

Thanks Zbrushers.
I am often pigeon holed as that guy that does dinosaurs so its always nice to do something in a different theme and Natural history illustration has always fascinated me.

I teach Zbrush in a number of universities in the UK and I do get a buzz from showing students that Zbrush is the ultimate illustration tool for artists.

Since the development of the Keyshot bridge and the standalone zbrush version of Keyshot, my day got so much simpler.

I have shown a few of my sculpting techniques on here in a very limited way and I do plan to do a detailed breakdown of one of my projects in the very near future. I just worry that I would be just showing most of you what you already know.

I am really humbled to be a part of the Zbrush community. I started out 20 plus years ago as a traditional sculptor and special effects artist and the work dried up with the advent of CGI. If it wasnt for Zbrush being as intuitive as it is then I have no idea what I would be doing now.

Thank you sincerely for the gracious comments and keep on Zbrushing.

Peter
