Yup, thats it. Using the move tool you can adjust how much it will protrude. You can also scale it along its Z axis to control how “tall” the tool is.
thanks a million Kaz!!! I used yer alpha and came up with this…a couple of boxes and cylinders and your alpha and a snakehook tool…I dont know if this was what you were talking about doing…
Thats it Ron. Cool!
OMG Kaz…learning curve…geeez…so much just hit me and came together after that post…I did not know that you could use the 3d brush as a rotatable tool in conjunction with an alpha…sh#t!!! that is so kewl !!! this is how it happens folks…the little things make the biggest difference…a bunch of ideas just came together due to this thread…thnx so very much Kaz!!!
well I did a little test showing what I had learned…I recorded a zscript…its a bit on the cheesy side but shows some of this …if it doesnt work right let me know …put show actions on…
It isnt much but gives an idea of what I learned…my alpha I made isnt that good…anyhoo…
Hey Ron,
I did not know that either. Very cool. That makes it easier in some cases. Through the Modifiers you can make it Double-Sided, which is cool.

Inter-Galactic, K-Man!!
one of my favorite digital artists online (aside from Southern) is Greg Martin… he does almost nothing but star scapes… a planetscape here and there… but overall his images are the stuff you can only imagine future versions of the Hubble taking pictures of…

Great texture you have there on the planet Kaz.
That’s a sweet-looking space-station, Kaz. It would look right at home on Babylon 5.
