Thank you Manzarek - do that, just go right away and start thinking later
Aaaaaaarrrrrghhhh, maybe smoked? Or sushi?
Can’t wait to see the final, keep brushing
btw: Manzarek, that’s the way to use creativity, please show us!
would you stop even thinking of eating my poor fish?!
Bbbb…ut God made those trouts just for feeding the superior human race?

Thank you Minastris.
finally got a bit of sculpting time today.
gave the sad guy I recently doodled for my last shaderto test, a bit of an update and started a sketch of the missing link in evolution - the monkeybird
the shader in the more redish images is a slightly modified variation of Ralf Stumpf’s great ‘one stop shader’ shader he recently posted generously here.
WOW, great sculpting, the missing link is my favorite.
But what do you mean ‘the missing’ , I met one yesterday.
Love your sketchbook! Great work!
Thank you Bjerregaard. Glad to hear (read) that
I felt I had to go back to this little young old man again.
He kept “calling” whispering into my ear
There was always something about the pose that was missing for me. it was ok, almost there, but in the end not completely what I wanted for him. big dynamic action poses are quite a lot easier than subtle still ones
anyway - now after a while and a fresh new look at him I figured it out.
rendered with BPR in Zbrush as usual.
hope you like it.
the introduction from my initial ‘progeria’ thread:
I have been fascinated by this strange condition/illness called Progeria, ever since I knew about it. what fascinated me most is how those kids manage to actually be very lively and often appear quite happy, knowing that their life span is very limited, because they age rapidly every day and are old people when they reach their teens.
I hope I managed to treat the subject with respect with my rendition of a Life fast forward.
wanted to try what I can get out of a plain vanilla BPR render without doing any compositing afterwards.
so here are 3 one shot BPR renders.
just set it up, hit render , exported document , added a frame and saved as jpg. no further image manipulation.
this is the best Ive seen in a long while… just stunning. top row tommorow me thinks
WOW, its really amazing, i love this render, i can see all the details on the skin and it feels really realistic, and i like the Mona Lisa’s background too, lol, one question, did you paint the hightlight on the eyes in PS? or its just the render? looks really good, anyways, nicely done!!!
Thank you very much Digi-mech.
Frank_Tzeng - the sharp specular light on the iris is from the render. the only thing I painted in is a slight highlight on the border between the lower eyelid and the eyeball. and generally a bit of fixing up the eyelid borders, because due to masking of the render passes there were some unwanted sharp edges.
I do like it, a lot. Great job all around Julian. Amazing work.
It is an absolutely phenomenal piece, such sensitivity and so accomplished. Perfect!
wow, very nice. I like the changes. gives it a bit more life
Even better.
What makes Julian’s work a TopRaw stuff is that he isn’t trying for a photo-realistic effect but for something more than this.
Thank you all guys. Very happy you like it
