That’s looking really great, nice one!
I dont think i’ve ever seen someone contradict themselves so much
Hi David. first of all I want to say that you have made a wonderful piece and that you have definitely made something of value. Second part is for Mr. Bananas. I believe sir you have made some really good points. As you said, I’m also not an expert of anatomy, but I can see on your drawovers that what you critique is right. However sir, I believe you are coming across a bit rude and it seems you kind of talk down a sculpt, which is really good just needs some extra finnessing, and also to an artist who more than likely has invested many hours on this. I’m pretty sure that David, as good artist as I can see he is, would really appreciate your constructive feedback, because we all know we are in constant learning and we never stop improving. That said, I truly like your work Mr. Bananas, and I would probably say that you are more of an expert based on the quality that I see in your portfolio and your word of advice is of great value. However, I would just recommend to rethink the way you approach this feedback/critique so you don’t come across so negative. All right guys, good work to all and take care.
As Niki Lauda, a guy that nobody liked because he was a serious guy, so is Mr. Bananas a serious guy. I think negative critique is very good to have here, since positive approach seldom helps, just makes people more stupified and well happy and I think anatomy experts should make these kinds of references, not somebody trying to figure it out as he or she goes. Though I like this work I think it’s far from anatomically correct reference, could serve though in any field that is not expecting anatomical correctness 100%. Video games, stylized art etc. My two cents and all the best to David and his family, and everybody else’s family.
Funny enough, I don’t consider myself to be a serious guy. I just like to talk about things as I see them, straight to the point. In this case I am very serious about the whole situation because it’s not about creating something for yourself, it’s about creating something that, in my opinion, doesn’t represent what it’s supposed to be, for other people to use. I take it quite personally actually. Especially when you consider that the subject is a learning material.
Like I said in my first post, and god knows I hate repeating myself over and over again here, I probably wouldn’t have even posted here in the first place if this was a personal study of anatomy. I would think that it’s a good sculpt that has a lot of areas for improvement. But if worrying about other people make me sound like I come down rude on the sculpt or David, then I guess I’m just a jerk. Right?
Hi Mr. Bananas. I’m the same way and I don’t like to post many times or repeat myself that much, but I didn’t want you to think that I believe you are jerk. Your cause is noble and I’ve seen many material out there that should not be tagged as educational because it has flaws. Nevertheless, there is a how to get your point heard without being rude about it. There is a positive reinforcement way to educate and mentor someone without deconstructing his value. Well, I guess this will be my last post on this thread. However, I want to finish by reiterating that I admire your work and please don’t think that in any sense I would like for you to stop posting your feedback. There is a lot that we can learn from you and I hope I can see more of your threads. Cheers.
That’s a cool sculpture David, congrats
To mr Bananas,
I do not doubt your good eye for anatomy, but there are many ways to express an opinion and your choice is bad in so many ways. I beg you to be a bit more sensitive and polite.
Kindly,
Alexander
i like it
anatomy is not correct, but i like this stylized character
i think mr. bananas feedback is great…
if critics like this don’t make your work better in the future i don’t know what else should do it imho
and like he said, if the model would be just for himself it would be great, but i thought about pledging this project to use
it as an anatomy reference for my 3D models and i would have relied on it and maybe got confused with other references
nonetheless this is a great model and i still have to work hard to get to this skilllevel
so keep going with your projects and i’m curious of what you will come up with in the future!
David, your work is always hit my imagination.
Bravo!
