Hi Everyone!

After the launch of this project I have received a lot of feedback and critic from some of my best artist friends. So here is the final update on the model. Hope you guys like it!

Looks amazing! Count me in as a backer now.

p.s. look into Scott Eaton Anatomy Course. It’ll help for your next kickstarter, the female statue. :+1:

rad66203: Thanks! will do!

Here are some final images of the figures I’ve sent to print finally!

Awesome David! cant wait to see it printed :D:+1:

Love the monster head btw

digitalmind: Thanks dude!!

Excellent! Great job.
To better study the anatomy is difficult to imagine.

Thanks Lexxx69!

Here’s something I’m also working on at the moment for Futuristic Robots. Original design by Stan Grograou.

Absolutely love this robot. You’ve done it justice.

cool I have not used new image plane. does it work the same way old one did when loading a image on it?

I’m really looking forward to getting my planar statue. Great job on your Kickstarter.

I’d like to have this robot sitting on my desk, too. The detail on it is amazing.

LeeJMilner: Thanks!

brian20: It’s so much better and has alot more options to it.

turbocop99: Thank you! The robot will be produced to by Furustic Robots. Here’s their page if you’re interested.

Only 60 hours left to go on my kickstarter! The Master print from Ownage is here and it’s perfect!

I was thinking for a bit deciding whether I should post a comment or not. I’m sure I’ll upset some people in the process and probably going to be called ignorant a couple of times again, but here we go.

I don’t know what was your intention behind the project, I didn’t see your Kickstarter, but my guess is you had good intentions and was hoping to make a buck or two with this statue. Which is fine, I don’t have any problems with that. What I do have problems with, however, is with you selling statues with broken anatomy to people to use as anatomical reference. Not only are there problems with the anatomy, you’ve also carried those issues to the planer side of the model, which is probably even more dangerous. If you made something like this for yourself, I’d probably just ignore it and wouldn’t bother to post here. But when I think that this model will get into hands of OTHER PEOPLE who will think that this is a fantastic piece for reference and copy all those mistakes that you made… it’s just scary. It’s bad enough that people copy just the surface of the human body without giving much thought about what’s actually going on beneath the skin, crating all kinds of wacky forms in the process, it would be even worse if now they can back it up looking at the statue that you created and thinking that it’s all good.

When creating something like this for other people to use not as a toy or a presse papier, PLEASE think of the responsibilities towards those people and how you’ll affect them. I personally would never create something like this because I know that I’m just not that good of an expert when it comes to anatomy (I’m still able to see all the shortcomings of your sculpt though), you on the other hand seem to be quite confident in your skills and knowledge of anatomy. And I’m sorry to say this, but you aren’t an expert in it either.

Before I get all the hate towards me, allow me to make it as clear as possible: I have nothing against you, your intentions or your artistic skills. But I’m fully against people getting, in my opinion, not a very good product and relying on it as one of the sources of their artistic growth or whatever you want to call it.

@ mr bananaS

What specifically is ā€œbrokenā€ about the anatomy? You dont really give any examples.

is this just a long winded reply to get davidness to put a peni5 on the dude?

woah! haha! I am not offended. I would have of course listened and still will to your feedback if you were going to point it out. I did get a lot of critics and support from some really great artists hence the first version to the second version. I originally only wanted to print one for myself and if anyone wanted copies this is the way it has to be done for it to be affordable to them.

You know I work completely freelance and any little thing I can do for my family… I will do it even if it fails… I still learn from it.

Don’t worry about any haters… I don’t.

You know its good for me to hear stuff like this and I’ve learnt during the course of the kickstarter that I need to work and study even harder. In fact it just motivates me more… I’m a fighter!

Here’s the rest of the images anyway!

BlackMath: I don’t need to give any examples. There is no point in that since the model is finished and being produced. What I’m trying to do here is warn people like you, who looking at this statue can spot missing genitals as a thing that is off about the model.

davidness: It’s very good of you to care for your family, after all they are the most important people we have, but the way you said it… ā€œeven if I fail etc etcā€. Again, there is NO room for failure in the type of thing you are doing here. You’re providing other people with a product that should be very crucial to any artist dealing with character creation. How can I put it even more strongly in words that it’s not just about you and your family when you’re a putting out learning material to other people.
I admire your intentions, I would love for people to have good learning resources for affordable prices. But you should be very careful what you’re putting out there in the world.

Here’s a rather quick paintover I did. And if someone says that those are very small things to even bother to fix or notice, imagine me giving you a world map with relatively small countries like, let’s say Sweden and Finland, switched places with each other. It’s not a big problem until you want to visit those countries and find out that you’re in Sweden instead of Finland. This type of tools, reference material, IS a map. You use it as a guide to follow and not to get lost in all the complexities of the human body (at least it looks complex when you don’t know what is what). It should be as accurate is can possibly be and there can’t be any variations of muscle definitions, even though you might see something very extreme on a human body in a crazy pose. Those variations should come from a strong base that you have in the first place, not the other way around.
