Druid®

Druid…looking good…glad ya got it 3D now!! Post some more and let’s see some textured ones eh?

Abyssis…I am going to play with those alphas and see if I get same results…I am assuming you started the make 3D with default settings? and I will see what happens if I get the same then I’ll play around.

As for those settings…I found em by accident thru (tongue in cheek) anger management…hahaha trial and error when I was trying to load a really bad obj file some time ago that kept breaking up on me when I divided it…i have to say tho sometimes it produces some very cool results!

yaaah, aminuts, I think, “try and error” is the best way to explore this awsomeFUN-tastic tool ZB2   Keep exploring

I´v tryied everything possible, but here is the result

Hi Rhom
Some posts on the first page of this thread show this program
It was just on the page linked
Pilou

Thanx for tipping me off to that fact Frenchie-What would we do without you?

Pilou

Druid…I do believe you mastered Knot making!

Abyssis…what is your goal with that particular alpha?..it is the alpha itself creating those points…if you draw the alpha on canvas…white on black, max, and highest intensities…you can see the voids and extra points that zbrush is trying to work with…do you get the same results using a clean alpha perhaps like the the arrow alpha?

aminuts, I only would like know, WHY and where is the solution… I wonder, that nobody from PixolTeam is ABLE to answer… :td:

Abyssis
Your case seems desesperate

Abyssis,

I played around with your problem a bit and found a way that might help reduce your jaggies. I don’t know what versiion of ZBrush you’re working with but here’s one way I found in ZBrush 2.

Below is a before and after picture. The image on the left is a skinned brush object created with the Alpha Brush 03 after a Make 3D with ZBrush default settings for everything.

The two right hand images were created with the same brush by applying a pre blur of the Alpha with the max blur setting of 15 using the blur slider in the Alpha Pallette. I can’t remember if earlier versions of ZBrush had a similar way to blur alphas.

That was the only difference. The pre blurring of the alpha seemed to get rid of the artifacts.

Some alphas may require multiple blurs by using the Make Modified Alpha button in ZBrush 2 and then blurring this modified alpha again. This may not solve all the problems but things do look a lot better.

Brian

If you look at the alpha real close you can see why…the reason I asked what your goal with that particular alpha is…well I could get the same result above that Brian got do various things …however if you wanted to keep the lines, highs and lows of that alpha…using it to make 3d is not the way to go.

you would have better results using a clean alpha in that shape and make3d then use alpha 3 in PM to displace that obj according to your alpha and would result in smoother results.

he he, thanx, Brian & aminuts, appreciate your patience and help, BUT: I want use uneven, blurry alphas   To use cleanalphas is very easy, but not “arty”, u know what I mean :qu: Maybe, I should smoke first

Hahaha a good smoke never hurt anyone!

You might try cleaning up the alphas a bit. Such as getting rid of the stray points and changing any of the grays below 50% to 50% or above so that you don’t get unwanted holes, or create your own, I don’t know…just a few suggestions. Or create a pm3d obj and use the alpha to “delete” the unwanted parts etc etc.
