[Searching] Celtic Knots ZScript

Hi people :slight_smile:

Do anyone to know when I would find Zscript for Celtic Knots?
I love this one celtic designers!
I think that is not difficult create one ZScript from source code mathemathic knot theory,

see it this url:
http://www.cs.ubc.ca/nest/imager/contributions/scharein/knot-theory/knot-theory.html

and see it this url:
http://www.cs.ubc.ca/nest/imager/contributions/scharein/KnotPlot.html
I think the unlimited possibility from this one with ZScript
:smiley:

Thanks for all attention

It´s very easy, Druid… the formula is:
xi = r1 cos φi (1)
yi = r1 sin φi (2)
ui = xi + r2 cos –a·φi (3)
vi = yi + r2 sin –a·φi (4)
pi = xi + c·r2 cos –a·φi (5)
qi = yi + c·r2 sin –a·φi (6)

With the following parameter setting:

a = 2
b = 2.6
c = 0.55
r2 = b·r1
φi = 0,…,2π

:smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Hi friend :eek:
But I’m a newbie in ZB2, I don’t to know create ZScript, you know create it?
Please, you could create this ZScript with this formula :smiley: for us :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks,

Druid®

Your second link is false !
here the start :slight_smile:

no, my friend, I can not (not yet)… to know the theory is not to know the praxis… sorry :wink:

Ok my friend Abyssis, thanks for your attention.
I hope that anybody goes to create this ZScript for us :rolleyes:
My friend Frenchy Pilou thanks for your observation, one dot in the final URL were error, yet corrected :wink:

Druid®

Hi Abyssis, I found that url from your mathematical knot :smiley:

Druid®

Are you planning to model from your celtic knot? Or just use one in Projection Master for additional detail?

If it’s the latter, you don’t need a ZScript. You just need an alpha, or an imported mesh if you want to get extra fancy.

Just a thought.

Someone posted this on ZBC a while back…

Surely me :smiley: Many times like
In this post
And a very beautiful poster by Cameyo
Pilou
:cool:

Must be, Mr. P!

Sorry… I couldn’t remember who or when. But I also seem to recall someone posting several .obj imports which were enhanced into complex compositions using ZBrush. :confused:

Still, Steve Abbott’s VB knot-design tool seems very versatile and a ZScript to do some similar thing might not be necessary?

:slight_smile: Sven

OK, nobody is too master in ZScript for it :frowning:

OK guys, i think that had one master here for this minor project :frowning:

Thanks for all!

Druid®

Hi Druid
Don’t be too sad!
There are only a little % of scriptors, and now they prefer explore and discover the new features of the Zb2 :slight_smile:
No doubt that someone make your knot idea!
Have you see if the knot prog above can make save as Dxf or obj format ?
If yes, you can import it in Zbrush :slight_smile:
Have happy Zbrushing!
Pilou

OK my friend Frenchy Pilou :slight_smile:
The program from Steve Abbott save to vector file.
I think that were easy construct one ZScript to Contruct Celtic Knots in ZB2, but I hope that is not too easy :frowning:
I would like of one ZScript to direct construct and evaluater my celtic knots.

Thanks for all :stuck_out_tongue:

Druid,

The program above is capable of outputting obj files which as you can see Zbrush reads very well. only thing you have to do is set zbrushes import settings to merge, weld at .01, and tri2quad at about 45 and they come out great and very dividable.

this might or might not relate to the topic but I had this question and wanted an awnser so bad …
IS THERE ANY WAY TO PUT TOGETHER A ZSPHERE WITH ANOTHER??? for example to combine one with the other ? can someone help me please! thank u guys

aminuts & Svengali, this is yeeeki-peace-of-software :+1: :+1: :+1:

Thank you 4 the idea/URL :smiley:

Hi Aztec
Why not marked each and polymeshed at the end ? :slight_smile:

For the Knot, thx animuts, you have made to win some precious times for the poor scriptors :smiley:
Pilou

Azteca…I think Aurick mentioned in another thread you can use digit’s widgets to combine zspheres together while zspheres.
You can combine a skinned sphere object to a new zphere object…there is a script showing how in z2…to create a new object.

Frenchy,
I hoped to save a scripter the troubles when that program works quite well. I am sure if you played with it we would have the pleasure of some fantastic funky Frenchy art to admire! Give it a go!

Ohhhh, it’s a beaty :smiley:
Friend aminuts, I’m confused now, this program that you refer is Knot3d from Steve Abbott ???
Other question: do you save your work in obj or dxf?
I go to tested one examples now with your parameters from ZBrush2.

Thanks dear friend and thanks for all attention for everyons :stuck_out_tongue:

Druid®

P.S. I would like that more people worked with program and put here yours work :smiley:
The imagination is not limited :stuck_out_tongue: , I’m going very happy for all contribuition :wink:
