Ryan's ZBrush Sketchbook (Maddam's Standard brush - added page 6)

nice work, man, so great!!!:+1:

Thanks guys!

I did some sculpting over the weekend and created a new brush called Rasp.

You can download it here.

The goal was to be able to create surface planes very fast. The brush is best used at a larger brush size.

Here is a work in progress that I used the brush on. the hands are being worked on separately and will be added later. I find this helps me not worry about forearm topology and pronation too much.

for some reason that reminds me of Angelina Jolie:confused:

Continued sculpting on the figure. I established the face some more and the expression. Very difficult expression. I was going for the ecstasy of St. Theresa here. Next I have to do the hands.

Alex Oliver

beautiful. im glad you are posting again! your work is a constant inspiration to me!

Thanks alexleia! Great work on your sketchbook thread too! The single biggest resource at zbrushcentral for fantastic sculpts!

I’m glad you like the movement. i have several slightly compromising turntable videos of myself in this position. Hm, does it effect your perception of the work when you hear something like that?

mdale13 - Thanks!

Very expresive. I knew it was yours. Great.

oh and thanks for the new brush, though i am not sure quite how to use it yet. i guess thats what makes it fun!

Well, I will show you. Give me a few days to get things together on my end and I will upload a video to gnomonology and youtube.

hey ryan, thanks so much for the new brush and the video tut for it!

haha wow, that was a much better response to my ‘how do i use the rasp brush’ question than i imagined!

thanks again, ryan

Thanks again Ryan. As always you are ahead of the game.

One thing tho… doeas anyone else have a nightmare connecting to gnomonolgy.com? Drives me insane!! It loads up the background and then I get a message saying ‘cannot open internet site http://gnomonology.com - Operation aborted’ Becoming incredibly tedious! Just wondered if anyone else experiences this?? I get it at work and at home so its not just on one machine…

I’ve been looking at your work for a while and I just want to say that what you do is AWSOME, INCREDIBLE, FABULOUS…:+1: :+1:

you really have mastered Zbrush

and thanks for the brush an tut.

:warning: It’s not your computor I just had the same error. :warning:

how long is this gonna take:angry:

i’ve been experiencing it for weeks. If its happening to everyone they will lose a heap of potential customers…

Hi Ryan,
I saw in your Video it showed memory counter on the left top close to 6-8gb and you were using subdiv 9 , how do you get zb3.1 to use more than 4.5gb ?

Im on quadcore xeon XP64 bit 8gb ram running zb3.1

Thanks

Siju

rossco1111 and 3David - Hm, bad mojo. They’re looking into it now. Thanks for bringing it up.

thomasphoenix - I get about 12 to 16 million polys per subtool on this beast. Dell M90 laptop with 4 gigs. You should easily be able to get at least 8 million with your setup. Try deleting the UVs. That frees up alot of memory. To delete them press Tool: Texture: Disable UVs.

Please note that this DELETES your uvs. It does not just disable them.

mdale13 - I strive to please. I was just so happen to have figured out a workflow like this that I wanted to share right away. Now, i just have to avoid the dreaded “dead surface trap” that classicists can fall into.

mradamw - You’re welcome. Thanks for watching it.
