Really nice work!!! Please post as many ZBrush screen shots as you can!!
Maybe it will make it to the top row. : )
I really like this image! Very nice!! But the only thing that I think needs a bit more work is the hair. It’s a bit thin and not very attractive. Maybe you might rather sculpt it in ZBrush instead of using a hair effect.
thanks for the advice. I will but later, now I am involved with a Frazetta tribute
Really beautiful and good translation to 3D from the master Royo. I have to agree with Martin@PIXOLOGIC…the piece would be even greater with finer hair. anyhow great work
Hey Martin!!! I am extremely sorry!!! When I said I was going to do it later I meant the hair, not the screenshots!! Please don’t think I don’t want to be top row. For some reason I didn’t read that.
I am so sorry…

Her skull is a little too wide from the nose to the back of the head. Its harder to tell without any sort of ear location marking. I think this could be a very strong piece but it needs a bit more work. The clothing should be zbrushed, with lots of nice wrinkles on the straps. The hair needs to be much more dense, but I lke the flow you have going. Just add more and smooth out the facetness of the hair, I guess with hair segmentation. I’d also tweak the SSS shader or add a red ramp shader, to subtley redden the overall color.
Thank you womball. I really didn’t pay attention to the back of her head because I knew it was going to be covered.
more more more subtools!!!
Hi lacluna,
I apologize for my flippant remark.
I actually think this piece has a lot of strengths.
It has very nice pose and mood. It’s also very nicely rendered.
Hey Eric, if you don’t have anything constructive to say please don’t say anything
doing good work lacluna. actually i used to look at royo works. very sensual and well i would also say erotic but that is luis royos style. anyway nice tribute. very good work. and dont listen to what certain people say. some just dont give a D*** and others do. keep up the good work. cant wait for the next update.
I think the woman and the skull you’ve created are great, but I do think matching the tone and color of the skull you’ve created to the one in the original artwork would make it even more dramatic.
Everything in the original piece has a similar tone. In yours’, the tone/color of the skull is quite different. To me, this makes it stand out too much making it look unnatural and heavy. But because everything in the original piece has the same tone, the skull just kind of blends in.
I’d also love to see you include more of her figure. This would also help to place less emphasis on the skull. Maybe you could recreate the entire piece
Hey Eric… it is all good. The suggestion that you gave me is really valid. I desaturated the yellows almost completely. I think it looks much better.
Yes, that’s awesome! I think it places more emphasis on the entire work rather than drawing too much attention to just the skull.
Very cool
