Strange, all of the pics seem to be gone. What happened?
I don’t know…links seems broken. I suppose it has something to do with the new site? maybe there are some problems. I try to get the links back to work…maybe image size.
Hi! the images are up and the new zbrushcentral is working…I don’t know about you but personally I like it, even if it could use some more colors.
So, I finally tested DynaMesh and I have to say that is pretty amazing, however it seems to me that, even if you have much more freedom to create all kind of forms, I miss the capacity of going back into lower Subdiv to do uv’s or some tweaking without loosing any details in higher Subdiv, so I guess I’ll continue with the ancient method until I find some useful info about that subject. If anyone know about it please let me know or post a link in here.
I did these on thursday in about two hours. I’ll try to make more this week but right now I have lots of stuff to do.
cheers!
Great sculpt Bruno!
Dynamesh does let you use multiple subdivisions.
Fantastic sculpt! Would love to see it rendered in a Maxwell Render marble, or one of Z’s better stone materials.

Excellent sculpting! Not a so great render but anyway you’ll find some tricks sooner or later.
About Dynamesh workflow:
The ancient method lol.
- Under dynamesh palette, the project button. Very useful when on higher resolution. It takes some more time but reprojects details.
- Duplicate the dynamesh under tools palette. Remesh it (dynamesh at lower possible settings). Subdivide it as you like and project all (a quasi retopo method). Now, a multi res mesh, do your UVs.
- The scale of the mesh is controlling the resolution of dynamesh. Enlarge it and have a ~2M dynamesh. Use the project button and have a crisper hi density mesh.
I used the above quasi method on sculptris meshes too. A great and fast method for sculpting and external render needs. For static models of course. As for semi organic animated cases (hard surf, robots etc).
For animated organic forms, retopology using loops is the only solution. Still waiting for some miracle, pixo always surprises us.
Rodia / Michalis : you can combine the Dynamesh with you traditional workflow, by using the Freeze Subdivision function just bellow the subdivision slider.
The workflow would be:
-create with the Dynamesh
-when you need more fine details sculpting, add some level of subdivision like before
-if you need to refine your Dynamesh, adding uvs, etc, then press the freeze subdivision button: ZBrush will go to the lowest level of subdivision and will freeze your higher levels
-do your changes to the base mesh and when done, disable the freeze subdivision level mode: ZBrush will automatically reproject your details to the updated model, in fact like GoZ does
I hope it helps!
great “sculptural” artistic feeling to it!
Hi guys!
julien n: thanks
markkens: thanks! I’ll try to test some different shaders next time…marble is a good idea
Totyo, michalis: thanks for the tips. I’ll test that this week if I have the time. I’ll let you know if i get it right!
Polo2011: thanks mate!
cheers!
we now have avatars! I like the new zbrushcentral keep it up!
HEY.:D…Congrats on your Johnny Cash piece…Really captures a great mood and feeling…Outstanding…small_orange_diamond:)
Hi mate, thanks!
great job!
Hi everyone!! long time no see! I really haven’t had the time to do some Zbrush projects, and since I’m starting a great great job starting tomorrow, I needed to warm up!As always, modeling in Zbrush and render with 3ds Max and vray.Cheers! Also! Along with some friends we’ve created a CG artists collective and we’ll be posting our work at www.bjuice.fr! take a look!
Great piece! What to say more? Congrats on a “great” job It’s always good to hear someone is doing good
Really cool Bruno, i definitely love the set up you developped for your 2 last renders.
Sculpt is nice as always.

Nice!
Nice man!
