Rock 1 ch

To piggy just when i stop and sit to post it step by step,i was already giveing in to those verry demands. The point is it seems a bit arogant to come out like that im not offending anyone.Have you ever heard If you leap without looking. Also one thing you can do is take my image and use arrows to display whats rong
so that i can see what to change.

I dont think he has that many arrows.

i’m with g-dub…not enough arrows for that venture

shockblade its also a bit arrogant to continue to ignore the advice people are giving you…everything piggy said was true and well deserved

you say you’re “giveing in to those verry demands” and that with more time you can make it better…but i have seen nothing in this thread that indicates any sort of ability to make this ‘better’

at the state its in you could work on it for months and still end up with the same crappy model you have now…it’s a lost cause as of right now

i want you to do these things:-

1- forget about zbrush for now, you’re clearly nowhere near ready in your skillset at the moment to be using it
2- go to a traditional 3d program, 3d studio max, maya, softimage, lightwave or even blender and learn it…learn it well…
3- find some tutorials on making smaller objects like toasters and such, and follow them to the tee…don’t think you know better…do what they tell you
4- try modeling something on your own, something from your house and see hwo that goes
5- then if you really want to create characters there are tutorials for getting you started in that as well…so follow them…
6- when you’e shown enough competence to handle traditional 3d, open zbrush again and have another go…again find tutorials and follow them…

basically what i’m saying is don’t just jump in expecting to be able to do it…cos you’ll fail…every time…as we’ve already seen…cg art isn’t something people are just born with the knowledge to do, you have to learn…

i’ve been doing this for 8-9 years and it’s only in the last 18 months that I’ve been able to produce work I’m happy with in zbrush, but before that I slaved away for years teaching myself the basics…

it’s a long road and if its really what you want to do, be prepared to put in the work instead of half assing it and wondering why people think your work is no good…

I wont show that much any more without first spending more time on it, no complaints i got it.As for machinery i could do that im just practiceing with

zbrush more.I dont pretend to have it all figured out, give me a chance i know that i could display something better and more well done,i have one in work now with better proportions if this one doesnt do it im off for now.

In parts I understand what people here are doing and I appreciate that work, but we must understand that Shockblade is trying to understand zbrush as a tool not as a (carreer) and I know how great is important a good advice but in fact the moust important is how we use the Zbrush as tool not just the technique that we use, if we don’ t respect this will be dificult to someone accept we must remember that art is not equal for everybody.

by the way
to get better on this
My advice is the real Illustration in first place, make some sketches and try to understand the right way to use a pencil or pen at your manner
after this experience you can choose a tablet that fits in your way to work.

the aesthetics of sculpting depends of a tridimensional vision but first the bidimensional understanding remember the real sculpting is in your head.
Zbrush is a tool taht you can represent that.
Any doubts Shockblade my email my friend.
send a private message to me! cheers and keep rocking!

It is one of best examples that trying to run while you cant walk will get you nowhere. Work is chaotic, divided way too far which is resulting is bubbles all over and proportions… those just scare the hell outta me. I mean - LOOK AT YOUR WORK - do you really have to ask? Start something simple - not full character - IF you want to get serious with it, that is. Because if you want to just have fun then result doesnt matter. Whatever makes you happy bro.
As a work thou… I guess you got too far with this “there is no shame in asking” attitude  If you catch my drift.

  1. I like working on machine characters,so much that can be done the possibilities are endless.

It would be nice if their were to be a section or display of machines, futureistic tech and machine beast.I wonder if anyone would be interested in a machine competition,Anything from mecha to cyborgs and all.

hello i have a question about your hands. Why are they always so small? Are you having trouble inflating ? Are you making the hands with Zspheres? You need to learn about POLYgroups, so that you can make the rest of the model invisible so you can zoom into the hands and focus on them. How long have you been doing 3d? If your reason for posting your doodles here is because you are hopelessly lost and need guidance from people that use Zbrush, then why do you ignore the advice given to you here?

You obviously dont enjoy people telling you your work is bad, so why dont you actually put effort into fixing your worst problem area’s instead of continuing to post ’ 3d doodles’.

You take critiques as personal attacks on you, people always try to help before discouraging. Try actually listening, if you dont, people will continue to bash on you

http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/humans/

excellent site for human reference guys, also has loads of vehicle, gadget and weapons blueprints. Hope this helps.

@ Shockblade - you would probably be better of using Zbrush as secondary app, i’m not exactly good at modelling yet as i aint been at it for that long, but i find that using human reference to box model a low poly mesh in something like 3ds Max or Blender3d (Blender3d is free open source) is good place to start, then export it as an obj and open it zbrush, plenty of tutorials on doing this online.

Doing it this way should give you a much better idea of a lot of the basic principles of working in 3D, plus learning how to model a nice clean mesh is essential. Just something you might wanna look into mate.

Plus try to avoid stretching part of your mesh so much as it will be horrible if you ever try to animate it, plus you’ll get some nasty texture problems.

Zspheres are an awesome feature, love playing about with them, when i start a model with zspheres, i always export the low poly mesh and correct the dodgy bits in a 3D app before i start detailing in ZBrush.

One more thing, don’t take peoples comments to heart, most of the people on here know what they are talking about, and the advice you get on here is spot on, take it all in. Remember they are not trying to offend you, just trying to help.

For the last peace that i did it was an obj imported in zbrush and im still going to fix it some more.I could work with z spheres as well and this poly grouping can help me,for something originaly created out of zspheres. How do you do this its crazy i actualy mest up and did it once and tried to find out how i actualy executed it.

Cant help you there, dont use polygroups, i do all my UV seams and unwraps in Blender3D

I do believe that trying out the tutorial “Joan of Arc” by Michel Roger you will get the sense of human anatomy and more correct shapes. Find a two reference images of a human, front and side, then model this and like magic this will, atleast should make you see how anatomy should look like.

here is a low poly man mesh, not had any sculpting at all, have a play about with it. I modelled it in blender real quick using an image of the site in post #91

its proportionally correct to the pic i used, will need some tweaking however, would be a good place for you to start with sculpting muscle detail etc.

Must… Resist… FLAMING…

It wouldn’t matter, you wouldn’t win…

This reminds me of another guy that used to post on various 3D forums and never take any advice. Think he used the user name Peter Salvatore, people tried to help but he just did not listen.

Im just working on stuff and looking at it critically before posting,im not stopping just yet.

I wanted to share this work as i worked on it i also have done more,I use max as the 1st primary 3d program.i truly wana hamer my skills in zbrush all the propotion comments helpt and i studied it more.
