playing around with some texturing…lips and scar havent been done yet…and the moustache is a bit dodgy…
also the jersey texture is only temporary…obviously as its rough as guts…lol…

it may be rough, but i think this one is good enough for professional exhibition.
Very realistic. excellent.
what happened to his lower lip dude? Good job anyways, great skin work.
@rouncer: thanks, i really appreciate that…
@msoon2k: lol…i guess it is a little lumpy…
will be doing some more work on this today hopefully
Awesome progression Robo. Fun watching someone who started around when I did. You have been very active. Look forward to seeing more and seeing you around the HMC circuit as well.
thanks tim
i’ve decided to wait until Zbrush 4 is out to properly texture my angry football man…the spotlight/lightbox texturing demonstration showed exactly want i want to achieve so i’ll hold off on that for the moment…will probably work on other aspects of the picture until Z4…like i want to add rain to the pic…and a background…
at the moment i’m working on my first real anatomy based piece, i’ve never successfully modeled a female before and so i figured i’d have a go…i found one picture of Dita Von Teese which i though was just amazing so I’m going about recreating that…
probably wont have progress up on that for a few days because its slow going as its territory i’ve never been in before…
ok well that didn’t take as long as i had expected it to…lol…here’s my first pass at the lovely dita’s body from zbrush
head not there at the moment because it was distracting me in its simple form…

Cool!!! She is soooooo beautiful!!!
@julperpub: thanks, i certainly agree…
here’s a little update, i made her necklace in max, i modeled and cut the diamonds accurately…lol…that was fun…
[](javascript:zb_insimg(‘166738’,‘003.jpg’,1,0))
Wow…so voluptuous and beautiful…
not too shabby. Watch the knees and elbows. Right now she has very large knees that stick out much farther than they should. The muscles that are around the elbow are also missing their definition.
nice piece so far though. the necklace looks good as well.
You are progressing fast
Very good likeness on the female.
@goast666: thanks, i haven’t really toucheed the elbows/knees yet, just roughed em in…will get onto them soon…
@Santis: thanks
alrighty, a little update, started to work on her face…no really close renders yet because its still quite rough…lol…
her face is almost flawless so its really hard going to try and get the likeness…it’ll be a great achievement of sculpting if i can get it dead on…
[]
after a few more hours here’s where the head is at…since dita’s look relies heavily of her makeup and hairstyle i’ll probably have to wait till i have those aspects done before i can get the likeness down…but i’m happy with how its progressing
faults i can see straight off:
[]
man shes hard to figure out…lol…
okay a lot of progress has been made
began facial reconstruction…lol…its just wasn’t working how i was doing it so i went through about 5 or 6 different camera angles and matched it up again and again so it was an average of all of them…so the proportions are right…now i just need to get the details right…
textured the body, wanted a slight change of pace so i set about colouring Dita in…
set up max scene and SSS fast skin shader
and here’s where I am…
[]
obviously the unfinished/untextured head throws it off a little (it might be a bit big too)…but that will be sorted tomorrow hopefully…and the necklace hasn’t been adjusted yet…hence it being embedded in her neck…:eek:
aside from that i’m really happy with how this is turning out…
here’s just a closer look at the torso with a little extra post work on it…

Hey, don’t mind me noticing but I think hard likely can one study anatomy from a single photo, and to me it looks like you’re mostly doing that. Photos don’t reveal certain muscle and bones that are nonetheless there, but are felt even though not seen - which is very hard to recreate in a 3D sculpture by only or mostly looking at a photo. So if you wanna study anatomy I suggest pulling out an anatomy atlas. Making tits bigger and nose sharper is easy when you’ve put every bone, every muscle on it’s place.
@cherub_rock: thanks, whilst i am using the one photo to guide my work, i have a folder of around 200 other photos of Dita that i’m continually referencing while i work. For this piece i am more modelling to camera and pose to recreate a still, than to get 100% accurate anatomy which i would probably do if i was modelling her in a t-pose (which may happen down the track), thanks for the comment
Maybe too much water in those baloons?
haha some of your posts are kind of intimidating…im watching them on a 107 cm screen so…
