and the endless tweaking continues…lol…no hair at the moment, it was getting distracting…
I will be going to hairfarm eyebrows eventually, but the new textured ones will do for now…

It’s great robo3687! Love yours work and love your Skin Shader! Keep up the good work!
looks near perfect for a doll… somehow the eyes just remind me of scary dolls. otherwise, very very close to realism.
@phanthanhtruc: thanks!
@GX@W: thanks, yeh the eyes seem to be a never ending challenge…they’ll get there eventually i hope…
went to work on the turtles this afternoon, I’ve started transforming my base turtle into the guys, starting with raphael…
i’m experimenting with a few things, i’ve gone back to the blood mask and added some hair, the idea being that each turtle will have his own style and that (along with the weapons etc) will help differentiate them as i won’t be going with the red, orange, blue & purple colours…just red, like the originals…
thoughts?
some more dianna tweaking…i think i’ll know when its done when i get up the next morning, look at it, and don’t say “i hate it”…lol…
i’ve tweaked the eyes a bit too…but need to change the colour as its more apparent now that i got it wrong…

I hate it … oh … I mean I love it. I’m not sure if you made the Parietal huge intentionally but other than that she looks pretty. I would like to ask you however, how did you model the eye lashes? What is the material settings.
I assume when you say parietal you’re talking about the top of her head…nope that wasn’t intentional…lol…I had fully intended to pull it down a long way but completely forgot to…
It’ll be fixed for the next update for sure…
The eyelashes are just max hair&fur rendered as poly’s in vray.
And as for the skin shader, I actually had to redo it due to a corrupted file, but surprisingly, the shader in this new one is barely modified from the defaults…
It’s the vraysss2 material with the skin(pink) preset and then my textures (diffuse, bump, spec) slotted in…
EDIT: i should also mention that there’s some post work on the picture, so whats there isn’t the direct render output…
great model, nice skn!
well i fixed up the top of her head, i think its better proportioned now, and i also fixed the eye’s colour…much happier now…
I believe you tweaked your model too much this time. I saw your model on page 7 of this thread and I believe you had it right. Her features were more feminine and soft and I believe they worked better. Now she seems more masculine and/or old for what you had before. Sometimes we keep on tweaking our models because we believe they are not perfect, but sometimes is better just to pull back and realize it is already perfect. Hope this helps.
i know it’s entirely possible to push something too far, and I’ve done it many times, but I’ll stick with this one as is for now. I appreciate you pointing it out and if I ever do go back I’ll be sure to credit you with it…lol… (its a good thing i have about 30 backup copies of previous versions…lol…cos if i ever need to go back I can…)
also i think the lighting might be a bit harsh which then makes her features harsher…plus being bald isn’t a common feminine trait…lol…
i’m sure i’ll get there someday…maybe…
I agree. She looks less feminine now.
Much better now. I love the innocent look on her face. I would agree with the others but it’s your choice as an artist. The head is not done yet so I can’t decide if the older one is better or this one. Great job.
PS: Would be possible to show how you can make vray render hair as geometry? and What about he blond long hair what is the material setting did you use? It looked really good.
Thanks
@Eiad: to render the hairs as geometry you need to go into the effects panel (i think you press 8) and change the render method in the hair&fur effect to geometry (the other options should be buffer and mr prim). This will work with any renderer and not just vray…
i should also mention i’m only using the geo hair for the eyelashes, the longer hair from before was rendered using the hair farm demo…
I’ve done a bit more work on dianna, softening things up and stuff, but i’ll leave it a few days before i look at it again…sooo…
in the mean time i did a one hour sculpt of cell from Dragon Ball Z (damn you sony santa monica for being so inspiring)
Thanks. Great job again. Keep us updated with your stuff.
so this is where i got to on dianna the other night…i think it looks more feminine when compared with the previous one…
i really must try and sort out this hair once and for all…can’t leave her bald…lol…
I agree
back again
dianna update
I just wanted to say that I think your female face from a week ago (where she is looking straight at you) is a more pleasing image (with the coloring, her looking straight forward, etc.).
