Hey everyone,
I have an huge issue with the Panel Loops option. When ever I click it no matter how many poly groups I have or which mesh it is, my tool (mesh) disappears and it’s impossible to get it back.
Can there be a patch put in place for this? What work around can I use in the meantime?

does anybody experience a bug with the transpose master on the 4R6?
I’ve tried twice to pose a character and then when I clic on the Tpose>subT button the software bugs and replaces the character with the primitive star mesh…the work is lost
any solutions?

Hi Aurick, 4R6 on mac is wonderful, it worked without a problem until today: dialogue boxes disappear before I have time to move my cursor to them to click on them!
for example I clock “merge down”, the dialogue box “cancel, ok, ok and don’t warn me until restart” appears and… at once dissapears!
I tried rebooting, creating a new project, with the cintiq, without the cintiq, you name it, it does that all the time with all “cancel ok dont warn” dialogue boxes!
the result is I can’t do anything!
I haven’t touch the installed files, the only thin I’ve done is erase some quicksave in “shared”, I haven’t added anything or touched anything.
I couldn’t find anything on this bug on the net, please help me, I can’t work :-C and of course I have a deadline (of course, and it’s the weekend!!)

I use deco brush (2.5D brush in Projection Master) a lot in zbrush, find it really useful for hair strokes, extra detail etc. However using it on r6 it seems to have changed. here are images from r5 and r6 using the exact same settings and same alpha but the results are clearly different. I checked the brush and stroke settings both exactly the same.

Hello I am having a problem on my macbook. zbrush4r6 loads but doesn’t show up anywhere except in mission control? and I cant click it or it just slides out of view? I am new to OS X but haven’t experienced this with any other applications? I have searched around in here and on the web but nothing. any help would be apreciated.
Was it working? Yes/No? Are you trying to open a project or just launch the program?
Hi Doug, I am just trying to launch the program. I was trying to work out a solution and have come up with an idea? I think it is some sort of scaling problem. when I attach a second monitor Zbrush shows up. but when I move it back to the macbook’s main display and terminate the second one I go ahead and close down zbrush and try launching again and I get same problem? it launches but seems to be off screen somewhere, and isn’t allowing me to click it in mission control although it does show up there?
In your Users\Shared\ZBrushData\ZStartup\ConfigFiles folder, delete the file called ZBrushCustomUISize.cfg
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, connect the second display and launch ZBrush. Drag ZBrush to where you want it and drag on the sides of the window to size it how you’d like. Then press Comd+Shift+I to store the location. Now disconnect the second display. You should be fine from there.

I dragged and saved Configuration. it worked like a charm!
When ever I assign a material that is in the basic material menu they make my model look too dark and low res to do any detail work. Has anyone else experienced this problem. The Mat Cap materials work fine but things like Basic material etc don’t seem to render properly.

I am trying to export a movie from 4r6 but the buttons to turn off the interface and only export the movie are greyed out…
Any ideas?

You might already have a recorded segment active. That’s the only time those buttons are greyed out. If the Delete button isn’t greyed out then there is an active recording already. The decision to record either the document or the window has to be made before recording.

Using geometry HD make some options disable like;
Sometimes divide hd make disable DPSubPix option in Displacement section of tool menu;
Always divide hd make suv(smooth uv) option disable in geometry section of tool menu; so i can not recalc UV anymore
And apending; duplicating… any subtool with divideHD remove hd divisions
I can’t say exactly what is causing the crashes because it seems random. I’ve been using zbrush 4r6 for a while doing many sculpts without problems. I went to do some hard surface stuff with panel loops and now it’s crashing constantly - within a few minutes of working in zbrush. I mask on the objet hit ctrl w to create polygroups from mask. Hit panel loops. The crashes come when I undo. I can hit undo and it works fine I can do multple panel loops. I’ve tried to see if I can recreate the problem with a specific series of steps but I see no pattern. It’s not just with panel loops. If I create polygroups with ctrl w and then undo it, sometimes it crashes. 45 minutes of consant crashes. It’s a bit hard to work with panel loops if I can’t undo anything. I’m using a windows 7 machine, 16 gigs of ram, I7.
